While flags were being waved and athletes marched in Sochi, gay rights activists in St. Petersburg and Moscow were being detained and insulted by authorities. Police have refused to comment on the detainment of 10 LGBT activists who waved rainbow flags and tried to sing a Russian anthem in Red Square as well as four protesters in St. Petersburg. The Russian LGBT community has been put under grave pressure both by widespread neo-Nazi violence against LGBT people and a harsh anti-gay law pushed by the Russian government which criminalizes even vocally supporting gay rights.

It Is What It Is 
Horty you know my position and my opinion on this already but this is my thoughts of how I look at it instead of ranting and raving and shouting most people not only close their ears but their minds as well with that approach. Ive learned from two schools of thought and I say this, Promote What You Love, Not Bash What You Hate and Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that support and understanding as well.STOP the hate. that goes for both sides of the debate.
check this out I think this makes an impact more than anything Ive seen but thats just my opinion.

I have noticed that there are others who have similar points of view to mine … like this article that you have commented on.
I do not hate them.
Believe me, I know all the effort that the athletes have put into this. Effort, time and money. I understand … However, I think it’s time to say something. And this is my way of trying to make a difference.

Horty, I am not implying you are bashing or hating like I stated this is how I see things and is my opinion. I say that this is my school of thought and I know there are several sides to a debate. Again just my opinion, I believe it is all in the approach similar to its not what you say but how you say it. Again just my opinion and a possible solution.This is not directed toward any group or individual. I know I am outspoken but I know that you can appreciate intelligent discussion about issues that affect our community.
