Something is happening in this world …. and it’s happening like two completely opposite waves. There has been significant advances for equality in some countries while at the same time, there has been a major move to undo these advances. There are countries that seem to be going backwards in time. Going back to times lacking the advancement in human rights that have been attained through hard efforts.
The Sochi Winter Olympic Games 2014 have been very controversial in view of the blatant persecution that the LGBT community is enduring in Russia due to President Putin’s crackdown on homosexuality.
An equally importance backwards movement is happening in Africa.
Countries are actively involved in, and have been successful, in criminalizing this “lifestyle”. Uganda is the perfect example. It seems that President Museveni has signed the “Anti-homosexuality Bill .. aka “Kill the Gays Bill”.
Yet, there is still a movement to cry out for the rights of all.
THIS POWERFUL MUSIC VIDEO ABOUT HOMOPHOBIA AND GAY LOVE WILL MOVE YOU TO TEARS
Hozier, an Irish singer-songwriter, has released a powerful single and music video for his debut EP “Take Me To Church.”
The video follows the relationship between two gay men and the violent homophobic attack they endure when their community learns of their sexuality.
Ireland’s State noted that the video highlights the wave of violence against Russia’s LGBT community:

Here are the lyrics, via AZLyrics:
She’s the giggle at a funeral
Knows everybody’s disapproval
I should’ve worshiped her sooner
If the Heavens ever did speak
She is the last true mouthpiece
Every Sunday’s getting more bleak
A fresh poison each week
‘We were born sick,’ you heard them say it
My church offers no absolutes
She tells me ‘worship in the bedroom’
The only heaven I’ll be sent to
Is when I’m alone with you
I was born sick, but I love it
Command me to be well
Amen Amen Amen [Chorus x2]Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my lifeIf I’m a pagan of the good times
My lover’s the sunlight
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice
To drain the whole sea
Get something shiny
Something meaty for the main course
That’s a fine looking high horse
What you got in the stable?
We’ve a lot of starving faithful
That looks tasty
That looks plenty
This is hungry work
[Chorus x2]
No masters or kings when the ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean
Amen. Amen. Amen
[Chorus x2]
We ALL fight the fight!!
We ALL are ONE!!

Yes, you got that right!! And …. my friend, that is what is happening in Russia … sanctioned by the government.
It’s also happening in Uganda due to a bill called “Kill the gays” … I can’t wrap my mind around this!!!

As the mother of two gay children it breaks my heart to think that they would be viewed by anyone in this way. Mine are fortunate in that they are widely accepted and it seems no big deal among their friends. That is not to say that they don’t meet ignorance but the way forward seems relatively clear here. I pray for a more understanding and loving world where people judge less and accept love more.x

ScottishMomus … your children are lucky. Please, make sure they know this.
Others do not have that acceptance. It doesn’t seem the world is going towards accepting but rather the opposite.
TY for your visit and comment!! TY … from the heart!!!
