At the end of the day …. “A Beautiful Spirit Transitions”!!

~~February 27, 2014~~

A beautiful spirit made the transition early this morning, as a soft rain fell over Orlando, Florida.

Joe Catino, son of my friend Rose, both of them two of the sweetest, strongest and brightest souls I know, brother to Gina, beloved uncle to Leilani and to the little nephew who will never see him on this side of the Veil, but will hear earfuls of Uncle Jojo stories as he grows up, and beloved of Kawon, another beautiful and pure soul, lost his brief but ferocious battle with cancer early today.

To his very last conscious moment, he kept his sense of humor and playfulness, and reflected back on those around him the deep love that surrounded him.

Go in Beauty, Joe, just as you walked in it throughout your life.

~~Rest in Peace~~

Joe Catino … you were a bad-ass trouper through all you went through. Like your Mom, you were always thoughtful of everyone around you when you were the one in pain, the strength and courage was admirable.

I am honored to have gotten to know you.

I want to thank all who have been there for us through it all you guys are truly amazing, love you all.

His physical form isn’t here anymore. He will always be with you, in your heart and your memories. He will always be within reach ….

Thinking so much about you!!!

Holding you and yours so close to my heart!!

“One of the most enduring metaphors for the spiritual path is the transformation of the lowly catepillar into a butterfly.  Out of its own substance, the ground-hugging grub weaves the medium for its metamorphosis — the chrysalis within which it evolves into a beautiful creature with wings.  The human being undergoes an equally dramatic transformation, unfolding the path to liberation from within the depths of the soul and emerging, after great struggle, as an expression of divinity in the world.”

~~To Joe …. from Mom~~

In human context, a family is a group of people affiliated by consanguinity (by recognized birth), affinity (by marriage), or co-residence/shared consumption. Members of the immediate family may include a spouse, parent, brother and sister, and son and daughter. Members of the extended family may include grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, nephew and niece, or sibling-in-law.

Photo montage put together to the song Dancing in the Sky by Dani and Lizzy.

Such an amazing song.

Really strikes a chord after a recent loss.

We ALL will remember you, JOE!!

  1. OH NO!!! I’ve been following the updates on Joe and have been praying. I don’t have a Facebook account so appreciated you keeping us up-to-date.

    My sincere condolences.

  2. Horty, thank you so much for sharing my sons journey. I knew Joe was loved by many…now his life can touch many more. I was incredibly blessed to have been given the gift of being his mom for the brief time he was with us. I KNOW he changed my life for the better…it’s good to see how many others were also touched by his light. It brings me great joy. Namaste, my friend.

    • This has to be you Rose!! I’ve been behind the scenes. I haven’t been there physically but I was alongside you all along. I hope that this small “homage” to Joe has been worthy of him. I hope that I’ve managed to do justice to his trials and to his memory.
I only wish I could have done more. My heart is with you and yours.

I love you!!! ….. I have no other words!!! There are so many emotions!!! Life is …. I hope to be there for your somehow, somewhere, sometime ….. from the heart!!

    • Thank you for your kind words and concern. Means a lot ….. We write stories and thoughts. This is a real one. A mother lost his son …… a young man only in his early 20s. Sad …… Thank you, again!
