~WHAT TO LIVE FOR~
NATURE AND NURTURE DEBATE
“Social conditioning is the sociological process of training individuals in a society to respond in a manner generally approved by the society in general and peer groups within society.
The concept is stronger than that of socialization, which refers to the process of inheriting norms, customs and ideologies. Manifestations of social conditioning are vast, but they are generally categorized as social patterns and social structures including nationalism, education, employment, entertainment, popular culture, religion, spirituality and family life. The social structure in which an individual finds him or herself influences and can determine their social actions and responses.
Social conditioning represents the environment and personal experience in the nature and nurture debate. Society in general and peer groups within society set the norms which shape the behavior of actors within the social system.”

We ALL are ONE!!

I think we are absolutely affected by nurture and social conditioning. While some of who we are is ‘nature’, what we become is an outcome of what we are surrounded by. As an adopted child who has met my biological family I can tell you first hand what the differences and similarities are. 😉
I can see that you’ve had the experience from “both sides of the fence”. Did that help you be a better human being or did it affect you the “wrong” way? …. that’s a story to tell!! 🙂
A great deal of my story is told, from both sides on my blog. If you ever want I will point you to those series.
Please do …. point me to where I need to go!
Got it!! Thanks … I will surely look and read all of it.
