The New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 to win their fourth Super Bowl. The Seahawks appeared to have the game in the bag, driving to the Patriots’ five yard line with 1:14 left. Then, on second and goal at the one-yard-line, the Patriots made awidely criticized choice and tried a slant pass instead of trying to run the ball in for the win. Patriots rookie cornerback Malcolm Butler intercepted, and the Seahawks’ hopes of a second straight championship vanished. Patriots QB Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes and was named MVP.
