“Once completed, this building will be the largest Puerto Rican/Latino-based arts and cultural facility in Pennsylvania and the region.”
Taller Puertorriqueño will now have a new site: El Corazón Cultural Center. They will host a ground-breaking ceremony on September 18, 2015, from 4:00-6:00pm at the building site at 2600-2624 North 5th Street (5th and Huntingdon) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Here is their message:
After 10 years of envisioning, planning and fundraising, we will officially break ground on our new building, El Corazón Cultural Center! [. . .] Once completed, this building will be the largest Puerto Rican/Latino-based arts and cultural facility in Pennsylvania and the region. This is huge for Taller, our community, and the City of Philadelphia.
The building will consolidate all our staff and activities under one roof, enable program expansion, and so much more, allowing us to serve more people and further our mission. It will also serve as a beautiful new entrance to El Centro de Oro.
