The world in which we live is full of danger, which means there is much evil and many amoral people intent on your demise. We see this in the multitudes of unarmed black people killed at the hands of the law. When I journey back in time to recall history, I am reminded of a time when slave catchers roamed the nation, under cover of law, to hold people of color in bondage. Today, the same thing is happening undercover law by the police. Not to mention the 21st Century version of slavery – prisons and jails. I am sure you know that the Constitution gives license to do this in the latest amendment added after slavery.
Back in the day people of African descent were required to carry “freedom papers” to prove they did not belong to another so-called human being and slaves were required to have a pass…

We re-watched Mississippi Burning last night. It had been many years since the last time. Sadly, it looks like not enough has changed since this ugly dark part of our history. What has to happen to wake us all up? It is way past time to get on with our future and end and bury our hateful, racist, ugly past. We are all Americans and we need to accept this and love each other for our beautiful differences. My own racial make-up is so blended I could be a rainbow. I am proud of all of my ancestors, they make me who I am.

I saw a YouTube video from the 50-60’s recently. It looks like nothing has changed! Don’t know what the answer is …. sad!!

My best friend lives just north of Jackson and each time I go to see her, I cry. It is like reliving that awful movie.
