“Puerto Ricans are hard-working people” …. there’s no doubt about that!!
If anyone doubts that Puerto Ricans are hard-working people, let them view photos of men cutting 15-foot sugar cane stalks, for ten hours a day.
The women worked just as hard as the men. There were thousands of sweatshops like this one, all over the island. In each shop, the noise from all the sewing machines was deafening.
