Six Republican presidential candidates back defiance of gay marriage ruling

Six of the candidates for the Republican presidential nomination have come out publicly in support of Kim Davis, the clerk of Rowan County, Kentucky, who has been jailed for refusing a court order to begin issuing licenses for gay marriages.

The open defense of anti-gay bigotry is an indication of the drastic shift to the right in American capitalist politics, in which arguments based on religious doctrine are increasingly accepted by both parties as legitimiate in making policy decisions.

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Texas Senator Ted Cruz have taken the most strident public positions, joined by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and former Pennsylvania…

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. Have lived in Florida since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976.   1. And these idiots want to say that they aren’t hypocritical? They want to be in charge of making laws? What if all Americans decided on which laws they would follow? These are people who don’t deserve to run for dog catcher yet alone the highest office in the land.

  2. These people are pandering to the religious right again. Fortunately, it would be easier to repeal Obamacare than it will be for those politicians to turn back the clock on same sex marriages and government employees being required to issue marriage licences..
