Hey fatso

“Being fat is a kind of crime, right? I mean, you owe it to society to be easy on the eye, not deliberately, avoidably unsightly, right? ”
….. what say you?

Being fat is a kind of crime, right?

I mean, you owe it to society to be easy on the eye, not deliberately, avoidably unsightly, right?  At least so the dudes on the internet who sign up to sites like ‘red pill blue pill’ seem to think.

For a page-turning heart-warming fictional exploration of the topic, you can’t go past Eating Bull, by Carrie Rubin.  Carrie’s sweet, kind and obese teenage hero eats because he’s troubled…and because it’s all too easy these days.

I’m not fat, mainly because I inherited lucky genes.  Back in the forest, I would’ve died of starvation quicker than chubbier sorts, because I use up my energy fast instead of storing it for the bad times.  Mind you, I’m not that naturally into food, and I have three dogs who insist on exercising me.  That helps.  Jeremy (Eating Bull)’s mum won’t let him walk to…

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. Have lived in Florida since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability. Currently working on an enterprise whose main mission will be to bring peoples of all walks of life together. To be one .... since we ALL are ONE!! The future looks bright and promising!!!

  1. I battle weight but am not obese but now with a forced diet made necessary by my health and with exercise. I understand larger people but wonder how truly huge people can become that way. I sympathize but would not allow myself to get that big. That being said, I don’t think we owe society anything. We do however leave a legacy for our children. I don’t want to be remembered as someone who couldn’t establish limits even in my personal life. “To thyself be true” sadly I never had the courage for that to be true in my own life.

Your post are always so well written, you are such a good friend but this post really made me think, as always reading your posts is a real treat.
