PUERTO RICO’S CURRENT CRISIS
“This is the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
We own it. It’s ours.
We are responsible for it.
The Congress of the United States governs the Island.
It’s our colony and we rule over it. It’s $73 billion in debt.
The Supreme Court said:
Puerto Rico is a territory belonging to the United States but not part of the United States.
The responsibility to govern Puerto Rico falls to the Congress and not the Executive branch.”

Puerto Rico’s current financial crisis didn’t happen overnight.
It’s been under American rule for 118 years.
Puerto Rico was bounty of war after the Spanish American war which the United States won.
It’s now under the guise of self government and self determination.
It’s always been a ruse.
I’ve always heard “if you brake it, you own it”.
If you owned it already, the more responsible you are for getting it fixed.
It’s time …. get it done.
Puerto Rico cannot do it alone.

Puerto Ricans must come together to deal with the economic crisis

I delivered a speech today, Julio 27, 2015, in the chamber of the House of Representatives condemning the inaction in Washington to address the very real economic crisis in Puerto Rico.
As Puerto Ricans we need to put our political differences aside on status and everything else and develop a plan with solutions to move our Island forward, because the U.S. Congress, Wall Street and bondholders will not act in our best interests.

CLOSER TO A CURE?
This is a matter of personal opinion.
In no way is this post discouraging anyone from following their medical practitioners’ instructions.
Many times I wonder … why all the organizations asking for donations?
Why all the marathon runs, the activities, the fund raisers?
Why is it always the people, the grassroots who have to come up with ideas and funds?
What is really going on?

Canadian researchers find a simple cure for cancer, but major pharmaceutical companies are not interested.
Researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada have cured cancer last week, yet there is a little ripple in the news or in TV. It is a simple technique using very basic drug. The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders.
So, there is no concern of side effects or about their long term effects.
This drug doesn’t require a patent, so anyone can employ it widely and cheaply compared to the costly cancer drugs produced by major pharmaceutical companies.

Former price-gouging pharmaceutical company CEO Martin Shkreli asserted his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination at a congressional hearing Thursday, February 4, but still managed to convict himself of egregious douchebaggery in the court of public opinion.
Shkreli, who was arrested in December on securities fraud charges, made himself infamous by dramatically hiking the price of a previously inexpensive anti-parasitic drug often used to treat HIV patients.
He’s since become notorious for odd behavior on social media, and for bragging about paying $2 million for a rare Wu Tang Clan album.

Lúgaro is running as an independent candidate
BRINGING A RAY OF HOPE TO MY COUNTRY
I heard about this incredible woman through a family member.
I started following her Facebook page and had the opportunity to meet her in person and to hear her speak.
Until that moment, I had high reservations about the future of Puerto Rico, my country.
This young woman gave me hope again.
There’s a possibility that things can turn for the better and the mess that is Puerto Rico now could be reversed.
There’s hope.
I found this musical video in the pages of her followers and fans.
Quite the anthem!!
It’s in Spanish but the words ring true.
The element of youth, Puerto Rican music and rhythm are all there.
My vote would be for Alexandra!!

Alexandra Lúgaro was born on June 10, 1981 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the High School of the University of Puerto Rico at the age of 15 and was admitted to its Río Piedras Campus where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with triple concentration in Finance, Marketing and Economics and subsequently her Juris Doctor.
In 2014, she obtained her Masters of Laws (LL.M.) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she is currently finishing her Doctorate in Financial and Taxation Law.
She comes to work without any ties to individuals or entities and without fear of making the decisions that are necessary to improve Puerto Rico’s social and economic panorama. Decisions she will base on scientific research and planning to implement strategies in what she esteems must be the two priority areas to be worked with: Economy and Education.
Lúgaro is aware that running as an independent candidate is a huge challenge, but as a Puerto Rican and as a mother, she knows very well the kind of country where she wants her daughter to be educated and live in. She is convinced that we have the human and fiscal resources to get up, what we have to do is administer them correctly and that precisely, is her greatest area of expertise.

He declared that the two major parties in Puerto Rico (PPD and PNP) were a complete fraud…because all their campaigns, and all their candidates, were based on whether or not Puerto Rico should be the 51st state of the United States.
But both parties knew that statehood was a practical impossibility…in other words, both the PPD and PNP were lying to the Puerto Rican people, with a fake issue, in order to get elected.
