At the end of the day …. “Documentary: The Occupation of the American Mind …. “!!

~~May 20, 2016~~

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

As I’ve grown as a human being, both in age and continued knowledge, I’ve become aware of the daily reality of the Palestinian people.

All you have to do is take a look at the map which shows how Palestine (an estalished, independent country) has been shrinking and Israel (a relatively young country) continues to expand it’s borders and encroach on the rights of those who were there before them.

All with the blessing of the “good ole U.S of A”.

Can I say: This has to stop?

Many people have said it but none pay it no mind.

We are destroying ourselves and our world.

This documentary sheds light on another version of this story.

I thank a dear blogger I follow for leading me to this documentary.

GrayLFor centuries there was no such conflict. In the 19th century the land of Palestine was inhabited by a multicultural population – approximately 86 percent Muslim, 10 percent Christian, and 4 percent Jewish – living in peace.

In 1947 the United Nations decided to intervene.

However, rather than adhering to the principle of “self-determination of peoples,” in which the people themselves create their own state and system of government, the UN chose to revert to the medieval strategy whereby an outside power divides up other people’s land.

Under considerable Zionist pressure, the UN recommended giving away 55% of Palestine to a Jewish state – despite the fact that this group represented only about 30% of the total population, and owned under 7% of the land.

… and the rest is history!

Israel’s ongoing military occupation of Palestinian territory and its repeated invasions of the Gaza strip have triggered a fierce backlash against Israeli policies virtually everywhere in the world – except the United States.

The Occupation of the American Mind takes an eye-opening look at this critical exception, zeroing in on pro-Israel public relations efforts within the U.S.

Narrated by Roger Waters and featuring leading observers of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, the film explores how the Israeli government, the U.S. government, and the pro-Israel lobby have joined forces, often with very different motives, to shape American media coverage of the conflict in Israel’s favor.

The Occupation of the American Mind provides a sweeping analysis of Israel’s decades-long battle for the hearts, minds, and tax dollars of the American people — a battle that has only intensified over the past few years in the face of widening international condemnation of Israel’s increasingly right-wing policies.
