Do bear with John’s humor, as it is not for everyone, but he hits it on the nail: most journalists these days could be replaced with A.I., or robots, and it would not make a difference. Money corrupts everything and it has corrupted what used to be a noble occupation. There are basically no investigative journalists left, and this will be a great time for corrupt politicians, as the fifth estate has been gutted by petty wealthy moronic billionaires who are more interested in profits than the dispersion of the truth.
The newspaper industry is suffering. That’s bad news for journalists — both real and fictional.
