Korryn Gaines Became a Martyr at the Hands of a Thoroughly Discredited Police Force

The US Department of Justice’s report on Baltimore … Damning!

United States Hypocrisy

I WAS A BLACK WOMAN WHO DID MORE THAN JUST MARCH AND PROTEST. I TOOK UP ARMS TO PROTECT MY HOME AND FAMILY. WHY DON'T YOU HOLD ONTO THAT INSTEAD OF LATCHING ONTO THE MEDIA BULLSHIT THAT I WAS A CRAZY WOMAN WITH A DEATH WISH?

If mainstream media reporting (opinion masquerading as even-handed journalism) is to be trusted, then Korryn Gaines was just a mentally unstable, lead-poisoned and brain-damaged young woman who was an unfit mother with a death wish. In other words, she got what she rightfully deserved. Special emphasis has been placed on her “anti-government views” (with no consideration as to why she might be justified in holding such views). But as Karen E. Quinones Miller writes in the Huffington Post, there’s much more to her story than is being presented in the mainstream (i.e. police) narrative, and some things we will probably never know thanks to social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram deciding to align themselves with the police as opposed to the communities those same police allegedly serve. Of course, the only “serving” the Baltimore Police Department seems to be doing for its community is serving up arrest warrants…

  1. The cops seem at war with them. By them I mean all of us. The anger and rage of people treated like this is understandable. It is disgraceful that this has gone unchallenged for so long not just in Baltimore but nation wide. A by – product is that innocent people are plagued with an arrest record for the rest of their lives esp when trying to get a job. That disenfranchises people from employment.

  2. Black folks and esp leaders should direct their rage on black on black crime .Action committees can work with police. Assist police in clearing out gangs. Businesses will then move back to the city creating employment. I think that creates an upward spiral in all areas. When they are called into a gang area and the obviously think every thug has a gun. They react accordingly.
