Save the Day super PAC recruits ‘Avengers’ stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle plus dozens more
Avengers director Joss Whedon has assembled an all-star team of Hillary Clinton supporters – including his superhero-portraying brethren like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle – for a series of comedy videos encouraging similarly liberal-leaning groups to vote for Clinton on Election Day.
“It’s not about attacking because Donny [Trump’s] real good at attacking himself,” Whedon told THR of the video.
“It’s about getting people to vote, because it’s frightening the apathy that people are treating the most crucial election of their lifetimes with.”
If the voters end up choosing Clinton on Election Day, the Save the Day celebrities all promise that Ruffalo will do a nude scene in his next movie, a cherry on top of Clinton-elected benefits like choosing new Supreme Court justices and crafting gun control laws.

The much anticipated Joss Whedon “Save The Day – Vote” political TV commercial campaign, breaking new ground in the use of A-List and B-List celebrities in politics.
From Robert Downey Jr. to Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Clark Gregg and Mark Ruffalo to Martin Sheen, Stanley Tucci, James Franco, Neil Patrick Harris, Julianne Moore, Nathan Fillion, Rosie Perez, Tarran Killam, and Bradley Whitford.
From Joss Whedon super-PAC that supports Hillary Clinton, without mentioning a particular name, the ad slams Donald Trump supporters as racist, and urges voters to cast their votes for Hillary Clinton.
The ad was innovative in its use of celebrity endorsements, while giving Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson prime spots, it alternates and repeats lines between the celebs featured, and pokes fun at itself filling in with actors portraying regular, but sincere, people. Some critics argue that the use of celebrities in political ads is ineffective, but others argue their renown can bring in new voters.
