In “Puerto Rico Enacts Medical Marijuana into Law,” Hannah Cartwright (Pasquines) offers details about the revisited medical marijuana bill in Puerto Rico. Although the previous governor Alejandro García Padilla technically had already legalized medical marijuana in May 2015. The new administration signed a new bill providing specific guidelines pertaining growth, production, sales, taxation, and use of medical marijuana for 14 medical conditions. Cartwright writes:
Puerto Rico made a progressive step earlier this month and enacted a law legalizing medicinal marijuana. The bill signed into law by Governor Ricardo Rosselló on July 9 creates a full legal explanation of exactly which uses for medical marijuana will be allowed.
