Very interesting read … some reasons!! One viewpoint …

Kate Spade a few days ago. Anthony Bourdain today. I’m rarely surprised when I hear somebody has committed suicide. Saddened, yes, to be sure, but hardly ever shocked or surprised. Why? Partly because there are so many reasons for folks to want to kill themselves, and partly because thoughts of suicide are universal, and partly because the thought of nonexistence can be so strangely attractive.

I doubt I know anybody who hasn’t, at one point or another, thought about how nice it would be if you could just remove yourself from existence. All your problems, all those life complications, all that stress and anxiety and pressure — all of it, just gone.

For some folks there might be some measure of vindictiveness in the thought; that whole ‘They’ll miss me when I’m gone‘ thing. But I suspect most folks who indulge in the thought of suicide are more…

IOTD …. “✊🏽 Image of the Day, Special Edition …. Power to the People ✊🏽 …. “!!

Puerto Rico is a colony of the mighty, imperialistic US of A.

The USA invaded the Island in 1898. It took over from the free authority of the people to impose their values and orders.

(Sounds familiar?)

In the process it used, abuse, stole, imposed views, subjugated individuals, incarcerated many and much more on the people of Puerto Rico.

The response generated after Hurricane María battered the Island shows the ‘heart‘ of the American governance.

It’s time for Puerto Rico to be on its own feet. It can’t be done overnight. It has to be a gradual process.

No one will come to save the Island.

The people will have to rise!

Anthony Bourdain …. “🙏🏽 Dead at 61 Years Old …. Suicide 🙏🏽 …. “!!

~~June 8, 2018~~

It seems I was living under a rock because I didn’t know about this amazing human being until I saw one of his well-known episodes filmed in Puerto Rico after Hurricane María.

After that, I started following his series.

I woke up this morning to these news.

I wonder why is it that we lose the ‘good ones‘ and the ‘bad ones‘ remain?

What amazing creatures …. Take a good look at their gaze; they should be roaming free, not in cages! Yet, they may be safer at the Alipore Zoological Garden. Humans?!!

Suicide Is Up By 25% In The USA For Past Two Decades/ Antony Bourdain And Kate Spade

‘Suicide Is Up By 25% In The USA For Past Two Decades’ … anyone care to address mental health issues in this nation? … why to we lose the ‘good ones’ while the ‘bad ones’ stay? Just sayin’ …

The death by suicide of two icons in the world of food, travel and the fashion industry reminds all of us that no matter what the mask that people wear when dealing with others, we never know what demons, they are fighting. In the case of Kate Spade (55 years old) with her pocketbook line that launched her career, she refused to seek help as that could mar her image. Anthony Bourdain (61 years old) brought joy and warmth to every one he met but he was also open about his past battles with alcoholism and drug usage. Both presented themselves to the public and others with a “full of life” attitude.

Both had young daughters that they left behind. This just shows you the power of this mental illness called depression. This also highlights the importance of figuring out how to make treatment for mental health more easily…
