Two Men of Principles — Barack Obama and John McCain

A ‘must read’ … in case you missed it!!
‘In it’s entirety, this is the poignant eulogy given earlier today by President Barack Obama for Senator John McCain.’

Filosofa's Word

Very rarely do I post anything over 1,200 words, and typically I try to stay around the 800-word mark.  I tried to find parts of this eulogy to cut out, to shorten it, but in the end, every word seemed relevant.  And so, in it’s entirety, this is the poignant eulogy given earlier today by President Barack Obama for Senator John McCain:

To John’s beloved family, Mrs. McCain, to Cindy and the McCain children, President and Mrs. Bush, President and Secretary Clinton, Vice President and Mrs. Biden, Vice President and Mrs. Cheney, Vice President Gore, and as John would say, my friends. We come to celebrate an extraordinary man. A statesman, a patriot who embodied so much that is best in America.

President Bush and I are among the fortunate few who competed against John at the highest levels of politics. He made us better presidents just as he made…

I realize I’ve spent considerable time this past week on the passing of Senator John McCain, I’m hoping you’ll indulge me one more time. I think one of the reasons why his passing has hit me so hard, despite me not agreeing with his political views, is his loving relationship with his daughter Meghan. It reminded me so much of my relationship with my dad, who also served in the military and died of brain cancer. One of the most powerful moments in the funeral service this morning came as Meghan gave a fiery and moving tribute to her dad and I’d like to share it with anyone who didn’t see it.

One last time I’d like to say R.I.P. to John McCain. He may have been imperfect, as we all are, but he was a true American hero and patriot.

The Speakers At Senator McCain’s Funeral Were Definitely Channeling His Voice From The Beyond

Amazing memorial … ‘The Speakers At Senator McCain’s Funeral Were Definitely Channeling His Voice From The Beyond’ … America, please listen!!

Gronda Morin

All the speakers from Meghan McCain, his daughter, Joe Lieberman, a former US senator and friend; Henry Kissinger, republican foreign policy adviser; former Presidents, democrat Barack Obama and the republican George W. Bush voiced his dream for America with his frequently used words, “We Americans are better than this” and how “we should all commit to a cause, greater than ourselves.” They were all gathered to honor the life well lived by the late Senator John McCain.

Here’s the rest of the story…

As per the 9/1/18 Washington Post report, McCain memorial: ‘One of life’s great gifts: the friendship by Gabriel Pogrund and Colby Itkowitz on Meghan McCain’s words:

“Meghan McCain, in an emotional and deeply personal eulogy of her father, took a tacit swipe at President Trump several times during her remarks.”

“But the most pointed was when she said, “The America of John McCain has no…

10 Reasons Why Donald Trump Cancelled Pay Raises For Federal Employees

Stop, take a look … worth your while … 10 reasons!!

List of X

“The economy’s doing so well, look how much money I made in the past year!”

This week, president Donald Trump has announced that he will cancel a planned pay increase for all civilian federal employees. Here are 10 reasons why this was a tremendously smart decision.

1)  There’s really no point of giving raises to the people in Trump’s government, because, chances are, way too many of them are just going to quit or go to prison.

2)  He’s hired so many millionaires and billionaires to run his government, he doesn’t think people in the government need any more money.

3)  Trump doesn’t want his taxes to be wasted on the government bureaucrats, in case he ever decides to pay taxes.

4)  He expects other government workers to show the initiative and business acumen and turn their government jobs into side income and free perks, just like…

This will never be forgotten or forgiven …. ‘Dear Resistance Readers, please take time after the Labor Day weekend to contact the republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina to inform him that his turncoat stance against everything his late friend Senator John McCain represented, has been noticed.’

Dear Resistance Readers, please take time after the Labor Day weekend to contact the republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina to inform him that his turncoat stance against everything his late friend Senator John McCain represented, has been noticed.

Don’t let Senator Graham think for one moment that his kowtowing to the man in the White House, the antitheses of everything his friend Senator McCain stood for, is acceptable from a supposed GOP leader. This is the president who ridiculed Senator McCain for his years as a Vietnam POW.

Frankly, I hope that the FBI is investigating Senator Lindsey with regards to Russia because that is the only plausible explanation for his betrayal of his BFF. Any other reasoning is simply, a disgrace to…

Saturday Surprise — Puffins (& beer)

Amazing way to begin September … good stuff!!

Filosofa's Word

Hello friends!  Thanks for dropping by before starting your weekend!  Today is the first day of September already!  Can you believe it?  Where has this year gone?  Here in the U.S., it is a 3-day weekend, for Monday is Labour Day.  My Iraqi friends asked me last week, “What is this Labour Day”, and I had to explain that while it was once a day to honour the working people, now it is pretty much just an excuse for a beer-fest.  Then, of course, I was left to explain “beer-fest” to people for whom alcohol is forbidden.  I fall into these traps often … you’d think I would learn, yes?

I know you all have big weekend plans, but I am still taking you on a short journey today … I promise to have you back in plenty of time to carry on with all your weekend plans, but…
