I am Puerto Rican 🇵🇷.

As Drumpf said, I come from an island in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by water.

But actually very beautiful waters. 🏝

Oh, and we are Americans … 🇺🇸

Yes, American citizens.

For more than 100 years, in fact.

We also speak Spanish and English.

And we have served in the army of the US since 1917…

Yes really!

We receive $22.5 million dollars a year in social assistance and government grants but we produce over $73 billion dollars for the US economy.

So, who gets the better deal?

Why do we have two surnames?

Because women do not lose their last name when they get married and because we do not forget our mothers.

Our small island, surrounded by great waters, provides more members to the military than any other state of the US.

We have astronauts👩🏽‍🚀👨🏽‍🚀, NASA 👩🏻‍🏭🚀🛰🔭👨🏻‍🏭 engineers, scientists 👩🏻‍🔬🔬👨🏻‍🔬, judges of the Supreme Court 👩🏻‍⚖️👨🏻‍⚖️, one gold medal receiver of honor 🥇, 5 Miss Universe crowns 👸🏻👑; Academy Awards 🏆, Grammy Awards 🏆, Tony Awards🏆, ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🎾🏐🥊🏓🚲 and world-class artists and sports professionals 🎞🎬🎤🎧🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻🎨🎭, many doctors and nurses 👩🏻‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️ and many, many more distinguished citizens who call our beautiful little island home.

We are a beautiful and interesting mixture of blood: 34% Taíno 👦🏽, 33% European 👱🏼‍♂️ and 33% African 🧔🏿.

This gives us an incredible drive to survive.

Nothing breaks our spirit, not a thing!  🤞🏼

We are helpful, love to party 🎶🎉🎊💃🏻 and we never give up.

We help others, even those who come to help us. It’s just how we are. 💪🏼

Scientifically supported in recent years as the genetic ethnic group that best represents the human race due to its extensive heritage of races. 👏🏼
