‘Climate Change’ …. “🌎 It’s Real …. Has Been Known Since the 70’s …. Time’s Running Out 🌎 …. “!!

SAVE OUR PLANET

That’s the title of one of many books I had when I was in college. I took an environmental class and immersed myself in the knowledge available at the time.

This was back in the early 70’s … as I look at my books today, as I read about the changes in our planet, as I hear the current administration’s views, as I see the deregulation and degradation of the world’s resources, I wonder that will be left for future generations.

I’m on the way out … hardly any steps have been taken since my college years .

I can only hope that this trend towards the cliff is halted!

I REMEMBER IT WELL

He did say it.

I was watching and listening.

Casualties: hope, kindness, civility, decency, reason, happiness, truth, joy.

And as he continues this path and foresee many other casualties.

Drumpf ‘Fifth Avenue’ Comment

Drumpf controversially observed that he could shoot an individual on a widely trafficked New York City street and not ‘lose one voter’.

NAME CALLING

I’d seen these pictures before. I hadn’t shared them because I thought a bit of decorum was needed.

Now all bets are off … glass houses?

“Got the smallest, thinnest neck I’ve ever seen,” Drumpf said, referring to Adam Schiff at a rally. “He’s not a bat hitter.”

Critics on Twitter mostly loved to snap back urging people to “Be Best” – Melania’s slogan mission to battle bullying and apparently aiming to bring civility back to America.

They also cautioned that it’s probably not a good idea to make fun of someone else’s neck when you may have issues of your own. Politico reported that shortly after he was elected, Drumpf complained during a meeting with media execs about unflattering photos of him – and indicated that pictures emphasizing his double chin were particularly unwelcome.

(Double chin? I think there’s a better description!)

Saturday Morning

‘When had I made everything so complicated?’ … Sarah McColl, “Joy Enough: A Memoir.” (January, 2019) …

Live & Learn

At night, crickets sawed outside the windows of my childhood bedroom, and I read sixteen years of old journals, turning their pages into the early morning hours, as if I did not know what would happen next. There I was, same as ever, a linked paper chain of self-replication, continuously through time, the very same shorthand for a simple, happy life: muffin tins, cross-country skis, a desk by an open window. When had I made everything so complicated?
