‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ …. “🎼🎼 Queen Street Drum Session Cover …. Way Cool 🎼🎼 …. “!!

~~March 29, 2019~~

I’ve been a fan for a long time; even before the movie.

After the movie, I’ve found so many covers, in so many genres and so many styles. This one is impressive … it’s a drum street session in Pamplona, Navarra, Spain.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Bohemian Rhapsody” is a song by the British rock band Queen. It was written by Freddie Mercury for the band’s 1975 album ‘A Night at the Opera’. It’s a six minute suite, consisting of several sections without a chorus: an intro, a ballad segment. an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda. The song is a more accessible take on the 1970’s progressive rock genre.

When it was released as a single, “Bohemian Rhapsody” became a commercial success , staying at the top of the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks and selling more than a million copies by the end of January 1976.

Alicia Keys …. “💞🎼 ‘Grammys 2019’ …. Songs She Wishes She Wrote …. Two Pianos 🎼💞 …. “!!

~~March 29, 2019~~

I watched the Grammys 2019 and what I most enjoyed was the raw, amazing talent that Alicia Keys portrays by the mere strength and spirituality of her presence.

She made me feel so much in tune with her spirit when she played the two pianos, spoke and sang about the songs she wished she had written.

There is a previous post about this but I found a better video of that performance.

I hope you enjoy it.

Midway into the 2019 Grammy Awards, the show’s host, Alicia Keys, sang a medley of songs that she wished she’d written. She kicked it off by playing Scott Joplin’s “The Maple Leaf Rag” on two grand pianos, one black, one white, sitting between them on a stool. “I wanna welcome you to Club Keys,” she said.
“I’ve been thinking so much about the people and the music that have inspired me, and I want to give a shout out to Hazel Scott because I always wanted to play two pianos. But back to the music. You know those songs that live inside of you and live inside of me, and you just love it so much, because it was done so well that you wish you wrote it. That’s how I feel about these songs.

I wish I wrote ’em.”

Then she dug into her pianos’ keys. “When I think about heartache and heartbreak, I think about this song,” she said before singing, Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly.” “Or when it’s time to move on, this is the song,” she said, before singing Juice Wrld’s “Lucid Dreams,” which transitioned into Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable.” Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner nodded along. “Now who didn’t wish they wrote this song? I know I do,” before singing Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody.” A band joined her in on her rendition of Drake’s “In My Feelings.” And then she flipped over to the white piano for Lauren Hill’s “Doo-Wop (That Thing),” saying she wished she’d written the whole album. “Then finally, you write the song that you wish you wrote,” she said before singing “Empire State of Mind.”

“For the music that lives in us all,” she said at the end, before bowing and blowing a kiss at the audience.

Local Food in Puerto Rico Finds Energy in Recovery

There’s no country like mine!! … Puerto Rico and its people are resilient!!
‘There are still produce shortages and power failures. Many farmers, chefs and other producers have not returned. And much of the lush, arable soil remains underused. But Ms. Quiles Deyá and others have rebounded with an even stronger commitment to self-reliance, local food and pride in Puerto Rico itself.’

Two hurricanes slowed a budding effort to reclaim the island’s agricultural and culinary independence. But its chefs, farmers and entrepreneurs are rebuilding.

A report by Julia Moskin for The New York Times.

Before Hurricanes Irma and Maria plowed through Puerto Rico in late 2017, Natalia Quiles Deyá was a full-time lawyer with a new hobby: growing papayas and root vegetables on land she rented in the island’s green, fertile interior.

But once the storms passed and the extraordinary level of devastation became clear, Ms. Quiles Deyá, 32, decided to quit the law and participate in regrowing the island — from the ground up.

“My father used to say that agriculture is the heart of every country,” she said. “I saw that the island needed something big to make a difference.”

After the storms, Natalia Quiles Deyá decided to quit her job as a lawyer in order to grow fruit…
