This is truly a fun one.

Noche Sin Día“; Spanish for “Night With No Day) is a song recorded by Italian trio Il Volo, featuring Cuban reggaeton duo Gente de Zona. It was released digitally on May 25, 2018, by Sony Music Latin as the lead single from Il Volo’s upcoming fifth studio album.

In May 2017, during a press conference in Milan, Il Volo revealed that they had started working with producer Emilio Estefan on a contemporary music album in Spanish, a tribute to Latin America and its rich diversity of musical genres.

In May of 2018 the trio announced through their social networks the release of the first single of the album, “Noche Sin Día“, recorded with the Cuban duo Gente de Zona, which mixes urban and pop sounds. Talking about the song Il Volo said:

“Together with Gente De Zona, on ‘Noche Sin Día’ we sought to transmit our idea of a fresh, Latin party vibe.

We want this to be our calling card as we introduce a new sound to our Latin American fans – one that’s completely different from what we’ve done so far.”

The David Begnaud Book Club

Mr. David Begnaud … an honorary BORICUA!! … so good to see you again, Nelson!! Hugs …

Book - 12-10

David Begnaud is much more than a journalist. Over the past two years, he has become a gladiator for Puerto Rico.

Ever since Hurricane Maria, Begnaud’s in-depth and on-the-ground reporting from the island have set a new standard for insight, courage, fact-checking, and deep-context journalism.  This high standard has been widely recognized: in February 2018, Begnaud received the prestigious George Polk Award for Public Service for his journalism on Puerto Rico.

Petitions are now circulating in support of Begnaud winning an Emmy Award and a Pulitzer Prize for his journalism on Puerto Rico.

A few weeks ago, War Against All Puerto Ricans came under the David Begnaud microscope.  Begnaud recently started a book club, and he made WAAPR one of the first “book club selections.”  But he didn’t stop there. Begnaud also aired three podcasts: each containing his own personal review, of several…

My Momoa Monday Moment …. “🌺 Ahh, the ‘Jacketed Look’ 🌺 …. “!!

~~September 2, 2019~~

My Mondays have become a hunt for even better pictures of Jason.

As if there were enough poses and photos here!!

Feast for our female (and male) eyes!!

(Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa is an American actor)

Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa was born on August 1, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the son of Coni (Lemke), a photographer, and Joseph Momoa, a painter. His father is of Hawaiian descent and his mother, who is from Iowa, is of mostly German ancestry. Jason was raised in Norwalk, Iowa, by his mother. After high school, he moved to Hawaii, where he landed a lead role, beating out of thousands of hopefuls in the TV series Baywatch (1989) … (known as “Baywatch Hawaii” in its 10th season).

When the show ended, he spent the next couple of years traveling around the world.

In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles, where he continued to pursue an acting career. In 2004, after the short-lived TV series North Shore (2004), he was cast as the popular character “Ronon Dex” in the TV series Stargate: Atlantis (2004), which achieved a cult-like following. In 2010, he appeared in the Emmy-nominated HBO series Game of Thrones (2011), playing the Dothraki king, Khal Drogo. To illustrate to the producers that he was Khal Drogo, he performed the Haka, a traditional war dance of the Maori of New Zealand. The audition was with the same casting director who was casting the titular role in the reboot of Conan the Barbarian (2011).

Four weeks after being cast as the popular Robert E. Howard character, Momoa began shooting in Bulgaria. His approach, like that of the filmmakers, was to pull from the eight decades of comics and stories as well as the Frank Frazetta images rather than the hugely popular 1982 movie.

Jason has a production company, Pride of Gypsies, in which he is expanding his career from actor to filmmaker. He has directed a couple of short films and is worked on his feature film debut Road to Paloma (2014), which is pulled from a series of stories that he’s been developing over the years, which he calls the Brown Bag Diaries: Ridin’ the Blinds in B Minor (2010).

Jason lives with his wife, actress Lisa Bonet, with whom he has two children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf.

‘Hurricane Dorian’ …. “😳 Early Morning Update …. September 2 😳 …. “!!

~~September 2, 2019~~

Update provided by weather.com

(Time:5 AM)

Continue to follow the development of this catastrophic atmospheric phenomenon since I left Puerto Rico last week.

Not getting any better.

As a matter of fact, it’s battered the island of Grand Bahamas.

Winds: 180 mph, with gusts of 220 mph.

As you follow this model, Florida is the next ‘destination’.

And all of this is subject to change.

Here’s hoping it steers to the east soon.

Fingers crossed!

We can only be prepared, sit and watch, hunker down and hope for the best.

Hurricane Dorian Stalls, Still Pummeling Northwest Bahamas; Hurricane Winds Arrive Along Florida Coast Tonight

At a Glance

  • Dorian will continue its Category 5 rampage of the northwest Bahamas Monday.
  • A life-threatening storm surge of up to 23 feet is possible there.
  • A hurricane warning and a storm surge warning have been issued for a part of Florida’s east coast.
  • Dorian is a threat from Florida to southeast Virginia this week.
  • What part of the coast experiences hurricane conditions remains uncertain and is dependent on the exact track.
  • Residents along the Southeast coast should have their hurricane plans ready and monitor Dorian closely.

Hurricane Dorian has now stalled, continuing its Category 5 siege of the northwestern Bahamas, but will track dangerously close to a long swath of the East Coast from Florida to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and southeastern Virginia this week.

Dorian’s intensity has backed off ever so slightly from yesterday’s peak, as it has finally undergone an eyewall replacement, common to all intense tropical cyclones during which its intensity diminishes as a new outer eyewall forms, chokes off its former inner eyewall and contracts inward. Despite that, it is still a formidable hurricane, and will remain so over the next several days.

Dorian’s forward speed has slowed to a virtual stall.

Unfortunately, that means the northwest Bahamas, in particular Grand Bahama Island, are taking an extended pummeling.

Wind gusts of up to 200 mph are possible on Grand Bahama Island, including Freeport, according to the National Hurricane Center, along with life-threatening storm surge. Bahamas Press reported Grand Bahama International Airport in Freeport was under 5 feet of water early Monday morning.
