This is something that I will always wonder … WHY? WHY? … there won’t be an answer!! #BeyondSad … ‘Kobe Bryant was an inspiration who transcended his sport. Rest In Peace Black Mamba.’
News is just breaking that NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his thirteen-year-old daughter Gianna were among five people killed in a helicopter crash in California earlier today. In addition to his phenomenal basketball career, Bryant was also a two-time Olympic medalist, and children’s author. In 2018 he won the Oscar for Best Short Animated Film.
Some one asked me last night where and how long it’s been since I met Leigh. I had some thinking to do … we moved to Apopka in 2006. We joined a local social group where activities where planned for the members.
One of those outings was to ‘Hamburger Mary’s‘ to watch a drag show.
The talent is there for all to see, the humor, the personalities, the chameleon ability to morph into to many different characters, the naughtiness … it goes on and on and on.
Needless to say, I fell in love!!
… and the rest is history!
That’s were we met. We have stayed connected and have strengthened a relationship to withstand the test of time.
We don’t see each other all the time but when we do the love is palpable and the fun is always there.
Leigh Shannon and the rest of the crew at hamburger Mary’s drag queen show was amazing. This is Leigh telling his story of how he became a drag queen. Wish I could have shown more of the drag show but there was too much music that would get me flag on YouTube for copyright. If you ever get a chance to go to a drag show I highly recommended as it is a blast!

“Wind of Change” is a power ballad by the German rock band Scorpions, recorded for their eleventh studio album, Crazy World (1990). The song was composed and written by the band’s lead singer Klaus Meine and produced by Keith Olsen and the band. The lyrics were composed by Meine during the band’s visit to the USSR at the height of perestroika, when the enmity between the communist and capitalist blocs subsided concurrently with the promulgation of large-scale socioeconomic reforms in the USSR. It was released as the album’s third single in January 1991 and became a worldwide hit.
Folk singer/activist Pete Seeger wrote this one in the late 1950s, though it was not recorded until 1962 by the Limeliters, and didn’t become a hit until 1965 when The Byrds brought it out of folk circles with their electrified version. In the interim, it was recorded by Seeger himself in 1962 on his album The Bitter And The Sweet.
According to Seeger …
“I got a letter from my publisher, and he says, ‘Pete, I can’t sell these protest songs you write.’ And I was angry. I sat down with a tape recorder and said, ‘I can’t write the kind of songs you want. You gotta go to somebody else. This is the only kind of song I know how to write.’ I pulled out this slip of paper in my pocket and improvised a melody to it in fifteen minutes. And I sent it to him. And…
I can’t believe all that has been happening … ‘The ground in southern Puerto Rico first began shaking on Dec. 28, and while experts say several local faults are to blame, they are still analyzing data to determine why the earthquakes continue.’
I am heartbroken; the shaking continues in Puerto Rico. NBC Newsreports on the latest earthquake that occurred today (January 25, 2020)—5.0—in the southern part of the island, stating that “The temblor comes a day after hundreds of people were evacuated from outdoor shelters that flooded after heavy rains hit the island’s southern region.”
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake occurred at a depth of eight miles (13 kilometers) around the southern coastal town of Guayanilla, located close to the epicenters of most of the recent earthquakes. At least one small landslide was reported.
“We felt it really hard,” town spokesman Danny Hernandez told The Associated Press, saying authorities were patrolling the area…
You are correct … I wasn’t able to watch! Not only because they were ‘mind numbing’ … I just couldn’t watch the disintegration of the nation happening in plain view. I couldn’t watch the apathy, lack of honesty and obvious position the Repuglicans have chosen! It hurt my heart and soul …
You’ll be forgiven if you found the impeachment hearing too mind numbing to watch. After all, a good number of Senators on both sides of the aisle couldn’t sit still the last few days and needed props like fidget spinners, crossword puzzles, and chocolate. On Thursday Adam Schiff gave his closing remarks in an eloquent and passionate oratory which perfectly sums up why Donald J. Trump should be impeached. Please, if you watched nothing else, watch this.
Here, right is supposed to matter. It’s what made us the greatest nation on Earth. No Constitution can protect us if right doesn’t matter anymore. You know you can’t trust this president to do what’s right for this country. You can trust he will do what’s right for Donald Trump. He’ll do it now. He’ll do it for the next several months. He’ll do it in the election if he’s allowed to. This…
