Happy Caturday …. “🐱 ‘Close Up and Personal’ 🐱 …. “!!

~~May 16, 2020~~

I’ve always been a cat person. They are so fluffy and cute while begin independent as they grow up.

There are exceptions to this rule.

I’m living through it now with my lovely Kitty (Not included here).

Still … loved they are: both Frida and Kitty!

Fox V. Fauci

” … and I totally agree!! … “As it currently stands, over 60% of Americans trust Dr. Fauci. Donald Trump, your hero, is hovering around 30%. Quite frankly, Fox News buffoons…you don’t do well with elections so maybe you should stop talking and making demands about them.”

The current talking point in attacking Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading infectious disease expert in the United States, is that he’s “unelected.”

Senator Rand Paul said he’s not the “end-all” of understanding how viruses and pandemics work. Actually, he is. Laura Ingraham points out he’s unelected. Tucker Carlson did the same while also calling him a “buffoon.”

These buffoons need to understand something. Dr. Fauci isn’t closing states, businesses, or schools. He’s giving advice. His advice comes from knowledge and experience. While Dr. Fauci isn’t a politician and isn’t an expert on the economy or business, the Fox buffoons are not doctors or scientists. Rand Paul is a doctor, but he’s an eye doctor and even then, I don’t think he’s the “end-all” of poking shit in your eyeball.

Do you know who else isn’t elected? Stephen Miller. Nobody voted for Stephen Miller yet he’s drawing up our immigration policy…

‘Residente’ …. “💞 ‘Antes Que el Mundo Se Acabe’ 💞 …. “!!

~~May 16, 2020~~

(Above: Residente and Kasia Marciniak)

During these uncertain times, we have been asked to ‘stay home’ and practice social distancing. There are many degrees to this … people can be alone, couples can be by themselves and small, nuclear families are together.

Humans crave for connection, for human touch, for expressions of caring.

During these times, these connections may have been placed on hold.

Here’s an expression of humanity during COVID-19 times!

It’s a matter of human connection … not being alone.

René Juan Pérez Joglar, known professionally as Residente, is a Puerto Rican rapper, writer, filmmaker, and also one of the founders of the Puerto Rican alternative rap group Calle 13.

He released five albums with Calle 13 before announcing his solo career in 2015.

Residente’s Intimate New Music Video Stars 113 Couples From Around the World

He did it again.

Residente released a new song and music video to get us deep in our feelings. “Antes Que El Mundo Se Acabe” (“Before the World Ends“) talks about love in social distancing times. “When will we go out again? No one knows,” he sings, before adding, “We better kiss before the world ends.”

The single is full of beautiful metaphors that show Residente’s romantic side. “With your lips I listen to the waves of the ocean, and my feet fill with sand from quarantine,” he raps.

He continues to say that the biggest pandemic in the world won’t make him keep a distance from his love, and even if they’re physically apart, the light coming in through the window in the afternoon will unite them.

~Bad Bunny and Gabriela Berlingeri~

The music video features 113 couples from all walks of life, backgrounds, ages, orientations, religions, and genders representing 80 countries around the world – as well as kissing and embracing each other in very intimate moments that make for the most heartwarming 7 minutes and 40 seconds of your life.

~Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef~

It starts with Residente and his girlfriend Kasia Marciniak, and includes surprise appearances by Bad Bunny and Gabriela Berlingeri, NBA player J.J. Barea and Viviana Ortiz, Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef, Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego, Lionel Messi and Antonella Roccuzzo, Canelo Álvarez and Fernanda Gómez, Evaluna Montaner and Camilo, and many more who sent Residente their home videos, which he edited into the final piece.

The video is a visual representation that love has no boundaries or limits, and it will be what we’ll need most when the world starts opening up again.

The Lincoln Project …. “🇺🇸 ‘Trump Can’t Quit Us’ 🇺🇸 …. “!!

~~May 16, 2020~~

I woke up this morning to another awesome, short, quick, to the point ad created by the Lincoln Project.

Also found out that ‘Mourning in America‘ has been banned from Facebook yet they are allowing a Trump ad mocking Biden’s mental acuity and his aids making fun of Biden’s verbal miscues.

Go figure! … I know why!

On May 4, the anti-Trump Super PAC the Lincoln Project released a new ad: “Mourning in America.” Riffing off the classic Reagan ad “Morning in America,” thevideo details Trump’s failings in handling the coronavirus pandemic and questions whether the United States could survive another Trump presidency.

“Trump is the worst victim of projection in the history of mankind. You know what I was doing at one o’clock in the morning? Sleeping. And Trump was up rage tweeting and losing his mind about me. And I know from two reporters he got on Air Force One the next day and was losing his shit. Trump had his campaign putting out press releases about us at 9:45 at night, two days after we spanked him. He just can’t quit, it’s like he cannot shake this knowledge that we got him.”

Donald, it’s not us, it’s you. Your inaction, ineptitude, and instability have caused the worst economic collapse since the Great Depression.

Do your job.

Saturday Morning

I love silence … particularly early in the morning when no one has still awakened from their slumber … “The Silence That Follows”, by the poet Rolf Jacobsen.

Live & Learn

Silence can also be a friend. A comfort and a source of deeper riches. In The Silence That Follows, the poet Rolf Jacobsen wrote:

The silence that lives in the grass
on the underside of each blade
and in the blue space between the stones.

The silence that rests like a young bird in your palms. It is easy to see oneself in Rolf Jacobsen’s experience. Alone out on the ocean, you can hear the water; in the forest, a babbling brook or else branches swaying in the wind; on the mountain, tiny movements between stones and moss. These are times when silence is reassuring. I look for that within myself.
