#GeorgeFloyd …. โ€œ๐Ÿ˜• โ€˜When a Knee Kills …. More Thoughts, #3 ๐Ÿ˜• …. โ€œ!!

Remember ‘taking a knee”?

Mr. Floyd wasn’t resisting. Police were called for a non-violent crime. He was subdued, he was compliant. He followed orders. Once on the ground, he expressed he couldn’t breathe, he reported chest and neck pain, he asked for help. The public there were also stating that the man was on the ground.

The family of George Floyd – who died after pleading that he couldn’t breathe while a police officer held him down with a knee on his neck – say they want the four Minneapolis officers involved charged with murder.

“They were supposed to be there to serve and to protect and I didn’t see a single one of them lift a finger to do anything to help while he was begging for his life. Not one of them tried to do anything to help him,” Tera Brown, Floyd’s cousin, told CNN’s Don Lemon.

Four officers involved were fired Tuesday, the police department said, and state and federal authorities are investigating the case. That includes Officer Derek Chauvin, the man seen on video restraining Floyd with his knee, Chauvin’s attorney Tom Kelly said.

      • I’m right there with you. They have published the names of the four officers. I assume, by reading their names that two of them are minorities themselves … Derek Chauvin (the knee), Tou Thao (keeping public at bay), Thomas Lane and J Alexander Kueng … holding his legs and handcuffing him! … two name give two away. I saw the one keeping the people away … ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

      • I saw that. Iโ€™ll never figure out how those who have most likely been exposed to racism themselves, go on to perpetuate it. The same goes with any bigotry really. I donโ€™t know anything about the officers involved except that both Chauvin and Thao have previous questionable incidents on their records. I donโ€™t understand why at least Chauvin hasnโ€™t been arrested yet. Especially after that second video came out showing that Floyd in no way resisted arrest.

Another thing I question is in that same video there are two police vehicles parked right there, yet they walk Floyd across the street, and another police car pulls in front, initially partially blocking the view. I donโ€™t know if this is anything, but it just struck me as odd.

      • There are no answers. This is so pervasive. I strongly believe that they behave that way quite frequently.

        My stepson is a policeman, heโ€™s been for a while. Heโ€™s pro-T … did speak after 2016 election for 1 1/2 years.
Now … in touch but very carefully. Because of the virus and shelter at home, we see less of him & his family. Sad … ๐Ÿ˜ข
