BYE IVANKA

I noticed plenty tweets about Ivanka tonight. I didn’t know what it was about and didn’t care about it.

However, I sure took a look when The Meidas Touch posted their new video.

Tone deaf or what??

She was scheduled to give a commencement speech, then was cancelled because of response to George Floyd’s murder.

Then she complains about ‘cancel culture’.

Here it is … fresh off the presses!

Wichita State University Tech, an affiliate of Wichita State University in Kansas, canceled Ivanka Trump’s virtual graduation speech amid backlash over Donald Trump’s response to George Floyd’s death and the nationwide protests.

“In light of the social justice issues brought forth by George Floyd’s death, I understand and take responsibility that the timing of the announcement was insensitive,” WSU Tech President Sheree Utash said in a separate statement. 

“For this, I’m sorry that was never the intent, and I want you to know I have heard you and we are responding.”

Ivanka posted the nearly 10-minute prerecorded address on Twitter and spoke out about “cancel culture“.

“Our nation’s campuses should be bastions of free speech. Cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination are antithetical to academia. Listening to one another is important now more than ever!” she wrote on Twitter.

Our video #ByeIvanka takes the commencement address given by Ivanka Trump today that no one asked her or invited her to give (which she gave in front of an empty room using White House resources after Wichita State canceled her speech because her and her family are hate mongers) and places her scripted, sterile, and disingenuous words against the backdrop of what is actually going on in the country.

AMERICAN POLICING

I woke up this morning to another day of massive, peaceful protests. My thoughts were jumbled and bothered.

I wrote them on an early morning FB post.

Here they are.

Then I was looking for a ‘picture/graphic’ to accompany them.

I really liked this one.

I assume that many that the depicted cops are beating a ‘piñata‘. If you’ve even seen one of them at a kid’s party, you know how many times they have to be hit to finally let the candy loose.

Notice how pieces of ‘candy‘ remain stuck on the clubs!

This graphic image reminded me of the videos I’ve seen as of late on Twitter, FB, etc. where the cops are using their batons mercilessly on peaceful protesters. Just imagine it for a bit!

SUNFLOWER SLIDE SHOW

I love sunflowers!! I think they are an amazingly beautiful natural creation. I’m fascinated by them, by their look, by the bright colors, by the placement of the leaves, petals, center, seeds and their perfect location!!

I have a FB friend who is an awesome photographer. She recently moved to a new city, new home. Seems she planted these sunflower seeds and the flowers have started growing tall and the buds have become amazing flowers.

THE HYPNOTIC POWER OF SUNFLOWERS

Sunflowers are beautiful, and iconic for the way their giant yellow heads stand off against a bold blue sky. And of course most of us love to munch on the seeds they produce. However, have you ever stopped to look at the pattern of seeds held within the center of these special flowers? Sunflowers are more than just beautiful food — they’re also a mathematical marvel.

The pattern of seeds within a sunflower follows the Fibonacci sequence, or 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144…

If you remember back to math class, each number in the sequence is the sum of the previous two numbers. In sunflowers, the spirals you see in the center are generated from this sequence – there are two series of curves winding in opposite directions, starting at the center and stretching out to the petals, with each seed sitting at a certain angle from the neighboring seeds to create the spiral.

In order to optimize the filling of the seeds in the flower’s center, it is necessary to choose the most irrational number there is, that is to say, the one the least well approximated by a fraction. This number is exactly the golden mean.

The corresponding angle, the golden angle, is 137.5 degrees.

This angle has to be chosen very precisely: variations of 1/10 of a degree destroy completely the optimization. When the angle is exactly the golden mean, and only this one, two families of spirals (one in each direction) are then visible: their numbers correspond to the numerator and denominator of one of the fractions which approximates the golden mean : 2/3, 3/5, 5/8, 8/13, 13/21, etc.”

Are Non-Violent Protests Legal?

WHY?

I saw it with my own eyes!! Have listened to responses from the Police Chief and Gov. Cuomo … kinda don’t buy it!! … “The graphic video, which can be seen here, shows officers shoving a 75-year-old man to the ground, leaving him motionless as a pool of blood forms under his head.”

I wish I had more but that is the question that needs asking of the police officers that did this to an old man……
