Meghan Markle …. “💞 Powerful Speech: ‘Racism, Activism and George Floyd’ 💞 …. “!!

~~June 7, 2020~~

One of my favorite people in the world!

I became aware of Meghan, not during her time as an actress, but rather when she burst in the scene as Prince Harry’s fiance and then wife. I did follow Prince Harry since his birth, due to Princess Diana, throughout time as a royal and his marriage to Meghan.

No surprise for me when she posted this message addressing racism, activism and George Floyd’s death. She didn’t disappoint. Meghan is a remarkable human being who inspires.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is an American former actress, a philanthropist, and a member of the British royal family. Markle was raised in Los Angeles, California. During her studies at Northwestern University, she began playing small roles in television series and films.

“As we’ve all seen over the last week, what is happening in our country and in our state and in our hometown of LA, has been absolutely devastating. And I wasn’t sure what I could say to you,” Meghan said.

“I wanted to say the right thing and I was really nervous that I wouldn’t, or that it would get picked apart, and I realized the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing. Because George Floyd’s life mattered and Breonna Taylor’s life mattered and Philando Castile’s life mattered and Tamir Rice’s life mattered.”

She also shared her memories of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and she spoke about Black Lives Matter, calling for the students to “channel” their education into progress.
