There are times when I think it’s just words that tumble and rumble in that empty skull he’s got. Other times I wonder if he really entertains that reality. Is he able to bend the facts to his own perception and believe it? I think he does. He’s delusional and lives in another dimension.

Thick blanket of Saharan dust is covering the area

My family and friends in Puerto Rico are posting pictures … like never ever before!! … “Known as the Saharan Air Layer (SAL), this dry dust plume commonly forms between April and October and moves into the tropical Atlantic Ocean every three to five days, according to the United States (US) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).”

People from all regions of the Caribbean—from Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados to Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and the Bahamas (to name a few)—have been sharing photos on social media showing the mysterious, hazy effects of the Saharan dust sweeping over the area. Here is a short report from Philipsburg, Sint Maarten. According to The Daily Herald, this particularplume, called the Saharan Air Layer (SAL, that rolled into the region this weekend is unusually large and dense.

A massive plume of dust from the Sahara Desert arrived in the local area this weekend and is causing hazy and dusty conditions, said the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten (MDS) on Sunday. Persons with respiratory issues are urged to take precautionary measures.

COVID PATIENTS IN ICU

I’m a senior citizen and retired Internal Medicine physician. Never during my practicing years did I experience what I’m seeing now since the COVID-19 pandemic began. I’ve seen pictures, videos of nurses and doctors describing what they are going through. I’ve seen their faces with the ‘marks’ of the facial PPE after hours and hours of continually working with extremely sick patients.

I truly think that ‘common folk‘, who haven’t experienced this closely – as personally or in the loss of a dear one, relative, friend, neighbor – won’t understand the severity and the seriousness of what is happening in the frontlines.

I somewhere saw a Spanish phrase that I’m going to translate:

“Until ‘the deaths’ become ‘our deaths’, we’ll never understand the seriousness of what we are collectively going through.“

The women, Thelma Mothershed Wair and Elizabeth Eckford, were two members of the Little Rock Nine, a group of nine black students who faced discrimination and the lasting impact of segregation after enrolling in the all-white Little Rock Central High School in 1957, following the Supreme Court’s historic Brown vs. the Board of Education decision.

After the Little Rock Nine enrolled, Arkansas governor Orval Faubus protested their entrance into the school, which in turn sparked the Little Rock Crisis. It was these events that inspired a young McCartney to pen the song “Blackbird.”

SLOW THE TESTING NOW

If you weren’t watching the #TulsaFlop, you must have heard already. Trump confessed on TV that he had asked his people to “slow the tests down, please”!

This was a public confession to depraved indifference to the health and welfare of the citizens of the country he’s supposed to protect (we all know that he doesn’t give a shyte about Amerians!). This is criminal behavior. Since all the guardrails have ‘disappeared‘, the only tool left to stop him is to vote on November 3, as if your life depended on it … because it does!

The ‘so-called’ president told the meager audience who attended his rally in Tulsa on Saturday night that he gave an order to slow testing for coronavirus. Ever since, his staff have downplayed Trump’s claim by calling it a joke. But on Monday, June 22, the ‘so-called’ president himself refused to back down from the order and instead avoided the question put to him twice during an interview.

With the U.S. coronavirus death toll at 122,000 and nearly half of the states reporting a rise in cases, Trump seems to think by playing a game of confusion he might escape some blame for his administration’s incompetent handling of the virus come election time.
