I must confess that I really never before followed politics. Politics is the ‘national sport’ in Puerto Rico. I didn’t follow it back there either. I wasn’t concerned about the ‘state of the nation’ when President Barack Obama was in office.

My life was smooth sailing and easy times except when encountering life’s usual obstacles. I didn’t know the names of the Cabinet secretaries, of the attorneys general, ot the TV pundits, of the reporters, of the retired generals and CIA operatives.

That changed the moment the FIDIOT who currently squats on the Oval office came down the cursed golden escalator!

How I wish we could go back in time!!

Them ALL things changed!

The intelligence finding that Russia was most likely paying a bounty for the lives of American soldiers in Afghanistan has evoked a strange silence from President Trump and his top national security officials on the question of what to do about the Kremlin’s wave of aggression.

Mr. Trump insists he never saw the intelligence, though it was part of the President’s Daily Brief just days before a peace deal was signed with the Taliban in February.

I was born on this date in 1950. My life has been full and quite fulfilling. I have had incredible experiences. I have learned quite a many things …. be the educational and life-related.

I have realized many dreams and still have many to experience.

(I refuse to die of COVID-19!)

I thank the powers that be for what I have been given in the ‘package’ that has been my life.

Regrets? Many … did I learn from them?

I think I did!

I’m so very thankful for everything and everyone who has come into my life and left a mark in it … be it good, be it painful.

Because of them is that I am who I am today.

I wouldn’t trade myself for anybody on this earth!

This happened … “In the wake of Black Lives Matter, or in the wave of it, Confederate emblems are coming down. Lady Antebellum is now “Lady A.” The Dixie Chicks are now just “The Chicks.” Aunt Jemima is saying good-bye with Uncle Ben and Mrs. Butterworth soon to follow. Confederate statues are being removed officially or by the brute force of protesters. NASCAR has removed the hate flag from its venues, but not all the nooses apparently. Soon, the only thing left will be a hate president and a few of his Senators.”

It’s time for another racism test, kids. If you’re upset about the Confederate flag being removed from the state flag of Mississippi…and you don’t live in Mississippi, then you’re probably a racist. In fact, if you’re upset and you actually live in Mississippi, yup. You’re still a racist. Also, if you’re still supporting Donald Trump, you’re a racist.

After 126 years of being on the state flag, Mississippi is finally removing the Confederate emblem. Yesterday, the governor signed a bill making it official.

Living historical times as we breathe today. Major changes in every which today. The ‘band aid’ which covered American reality has brutally and without care torn away and it hurts.

A huge change took place in Mississippi this weekend and it became a reality today.

Just a few weeks ago, as Mississippi lawmakers mobilized to take down the only state flag in the nation with the Confederate battle emblem embedded into it, Gov. Tate Reeves said the choice was not theirs to make.

“It should be the people who make that decision,” Mr. Reeves told reporters then, “not some backroom deal by a bunch of politicians in Jackson.”

But on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, Mr. Reeves signed into law a measure that removes the flag that has flown over the state for 126 years and been at the heart of a conflict Mississippi has grappled with for generations: how to view a legacy that traces to the Civil War.

The legislation mandates the “prompt, dignified and respectful” removal of the flag, which features the blue bars and white stars of the Confederate battle flag, within 15 days.
