Walk Backwards

Yep: KARMA!! … “I truly believe we will reap what we sow. Some people call it karma, call it what you want, but it’s absolutely true.”

My Good Time Stories

I hope people can learn how to walk backwards – starting today.

A long time ago, a man got drunk and passed out naked.  One of his sons found him and began telling others about his embarrassing position. Maybe his son felt overlooked by his two brothers, maybe he was sternly corrected by his father, maybe he just like being the center of attention – and this sure got people’s attention.

His two brothers listened and were mortified. They looked at their brother and without saying a word, went to their passed-out father.

As they entered the room, they did not want to see their father disgraced, so they walked in backward. They actually walked backward. They carried a blanket, and covered their father as he laid there naked and drunk as a skunk. (Try walking backwards right now where you’re at – unless you’re driving : )

They wouldn’t dare…

Science Schmience

Really … truly? Who is the idiot here? … “Donald Trump ignored CDC and his own coronavirus taskforce’s guidelines. Donald Trump ignored guidelines for wearing face masks. Donald Trump ignored social distancing. Donald Trump continued to hold super-spreader events. Donald Trump’s friend, Herman Cain, died after attending one of these super-spreader events. Donald Trump held a super-spreader event at the White House where over a dozen people caught the coronavirus. At that same White House super-spreader event, Donald Trump caught the coronavirus. As soon as he felt better, Donald Trump resumed holding super-spreading events.”

Donald Trump has always been at war against facts and science. And even after catching the coronavirus, he hasn’t learned anything from it except that he’ll receive special treatment.

At one of his rallies, Trump was boasting about how many doctors he had while also telling his flock of fucknuts, don’t let the virus scare you. It’s amazing he’s obtuse to the point that he’s boasting about his level of treatment while putting others in danger who won’t receive that same treatment.

You should not take Donald Trump’s advice regarding the coronavirus any more than you should go to him for marriage advice…unless you want a divorce.

In a call with campaign staff on Monday, Donald Trump said, “People are tired of Covid.” That’s true. We are tired of Covid. We’re tired of a president (sic) ignoring it, putting more Americans in danger, and making it harder to reopen this…

Thank you, Amy Cooper.

Who can forget this Amy Cooper? The complete personification of the ugly head that has surfaced? It’s alive and well … sad to see and sad to say!!

Social Justice For All

Dear Amy, thank you for being your racist authentic self, for you have helped to be an ugly reminder of why white people need to sustain some heavy lifting towards equity and antiracism work. Amy, your actions clearly displayed how white supremacy works and sustains itself in the United States, and how it has worked this way for over four hundred years.

Amy Cooper deliberately called the police to report a lie about a black man–a lie she knew would garner her the support of the police to uphold white supremacy. Amy knows how racism works and how the system of racism works in the United States. Consequently, what is revealed by Ms. Cooper’s actions is the very ugly truth of what it means to be black in the US. Sadly, Ms. Cooper’s behavior has only been encouraged and modeled by, what I hope is the, Last Confederate President

PUERTO RICO AND TRUMP

Donald Trump thinks that he’s the best thing that has ever happened to Puerto Rico (as he does about other topics and groups). As everything else, it’s only in his head.

Any real Puerto Rican and full blooded Boricua knows where to stand in regards to this

‘illegitimate, unworthy, FIDIOT’ who squats in the Oval.

Boricuas felt the disregard he had for the Island and its well being after Hurricane María devastated the country. We don’t forget easily. Many had to leave for the mainland to look for jobs, for stability, for dignity.

He wanted to sell the Island because we were poor and dirty!

Any Puerto Rican supporting this ‘man’ forfeits the birthright of being a Boricua!

NEVER FORGET, NEVER FORGIVE!

You don’t mess with Boricua people!!

He dicho!!

~LA CHANCLETA~

Hispanic word for a cheap sandal or flip-flop; also known as chancla. It’s often found under the bed.

Those of us who grew up with older, disciplinarian parents know the value of this … it was quite often used as a disciplinary tool to correct lamentable behavior!

Plenty of times you ran away from your mother or grandmother to avoid being hit by the dreaded ‘chancleta’!

Now you get the full meaning of the word, the video and the Facebook Page.

Crazy Uncle

I heard Savannah Guthrie – and saw Mary’s immediate tweet!! … “Trump is a crazy uncle. Mary Trump does not have a choice in that. We can’t choose our families. All we can do is to choose to avoid toxic people, even when they’re our family.
Mary Trump does not have a choice in Trump being her crazy uncle. She’s stuck with him. But we’re not.”

Here’s your cartoon for this week’s CNN Opinion newsletter. Please sign up to get these in your inbox every Sunday.

When I threw this idea at my editor, I didn’t know Mary Trump had actually spoken up that Donald Trump was truly someone’s “crazy uncle.” Or maybe she hadn’t done that before I wrote this cartoon. I don’t know. I found out when I had my proofreader read this, and she told me.

Moderator of the Trump town hall, Savannah Guthrie, asked Donald Trump why he kept retweeting insane conspiracy theories. She pointed out that Donald Trump is the president (sic) of the United States. Not someone’s crazy uncle.

Donald Trump is a crazy uncle. Mary Trump does not have a choice in that. We can’t choose our families. All we can do is to choose to avoid toxic people, even when they’re our family.

Mary Trump does not…

Just now hitting his stride (@ 71)

WOW!! … THE BOSS!! … “I’m at a point in my playing life and artistic life where I’ve never felt as vital,” he said on a Zoom call from his New Jersey home. “My band is at its best, and we have so much accumulated knowledge and craft about what we do that this was a time in my life where I said, ‘I want to use that as much as I can.’” – Lindsay Zoladz in her interview of Bruce Springsteen, from “Bruce Springsteen is Living in the Moment” (NY Times, Oct 18, 2020).

Live & Learn

Every music fan with blood burning in their veins has felt the sting of missing live shows since March, but the pain has been particularly acute for Bruce Springsteen, an artist who’s spent the past six decades onstage, yet says he’s just now hitting his stride.

“I’m at a point in my playing life and artistic life where I’ve never felt as vital,” he said on a Zoom call from his New Jersey home. “My band is at its best, and we have so much accumulated knowledge and craft about what we do that this was a time in my life where I said, ‘I want to use that as much as I can.’”

LZ: Like everyone else, this year hasn’t exactly gone how you’d expected. You’re putting out a record that you can’t yet tour.

BS: Oh, yeah. I think there’s going to be a process before people are…
