A lot has happened, but of that lot, the most important and impactful one was last October 15th thing that could possibly happen became reality. At half past 9 that evening, my lovely beautiful wife gave up her fight against (what we thin was) Neuroleptic Malgnam Syndrome. A very rare side effect of anti psychotics. She was 57 years and 15 days old. I will miss her forever.

Lijda and I have been married for 22 years and we have been together for 25. She was my light, my inspiration, my rock. Everything I did, Everything I was, it was all for her.

So.. now I have to find something to do and maybe bringing back my blog is one…

Long day, long week … long days!! … “Tomorrow is going to be a long day for everybody, and we know more long days will follow it. It’s to be hoped there will be only another 70 or so long days until Comrade Trump is out of office. Otherwise, I despair for the future of the United States.”

I’ll have to set an alarm tomorrow morning. It’s been a long, long times since I’ve set an alarm in the morning. Probably for 0500 hours, so I can wake up, check the perimeter with the cat, make coffee, get dressed, prepare food for the day, cosset the cat some, and get to the Lutheran church that’s my assigned polling station by 0600.

I’ll be there all day, setting up the polling station, checking in voters, registering new voters, handing out ballots. All day, until the polls close at 2100. Then maybe another hour breaking down the polling station.

I volunteered to be an election worker this year because of the pandemic. A lot of the usual election workers — mostly elderly women — opted not to work the polls out of a reasonable concern of contracting Covid-19. I live in Iowa, a state with a Republican governor who has…

Sometimes people forget that I draw for news outlets and not for social media. This is a post-election cartoon because my clients will need something to put on their pages for Wednesday before they know who won. It’s kinda hard to draw these without making them suck.

One thing is for certain beyond Tuesday and that’s that a lot of doctors, nurses, and hospitals are going to still be dealing with the Trump Virus…partly thanks to Donald Trump’s super-spreader events. That’s MAGA for you.

Monday Morning Wake-Up Call
