Martin Sheen, famously known for his role as President Josiah Bartlet on the hit TV show “The West Wing,” lent his voice to an Election Day ad released by anti-Trump GOP group The Lincoln Project, urging voters to take part in “one last push to get the train back on its tracks.” 

“Good morning. Today is the first day of the rest of America’s life,” Sheen says at the opening of the video, played over footage of cities and Americans beginning their day across the country.  

“One day. One day that will, one way or the other, change how this country feels about itself,” the actor continues.

“One last push to get the train back on its tracks.”

One day that will now play itself out right in front of our eyes, hour by hour, vote by vote, with history on its shoulders,” Sheen says. “One day that will change our lives forever.” 

“It is November 3, 2020, America. We have one day,” he ends.

Ray Charles‘ music has been used in a political ad for the first time, appearing in a video by the Lincoln Project with permission from the Ray Charles Foundation.

The campaign group shared the video yesterday, urging Americans to get out and vote and prevent Trump from being re-elected.

The Lincoln Project shared a video on Twitter featuring scenes across the U.S. with Charles’ “America the Beautiful” as its soundtrack.

The video opens with the message “The time has come,” before showing scenes of farms, small towns, cities, and landmarks including Mount Rushmore and Seattle’s Space Needle.

The video then ends with a message laid over a video of the Statue of Liberty that says: “Vote for hope, for change, for America.”

At the time of writing, the Lincoln Project video has been viewed 1.2 million times on Twitter and shared more than 20,000 times.

The progressive PAC MeidasTouch is urging Republicans to “put country over party,” reject Donald Trump and elect Democratic candidate Joe Biden. And it makes the case with an appeal to family.

“Before you cast your ballot, take a look at your sons. Is this the kind of man you want for a role model?” the narrator asks over clips of Trump’s crass and boorish moments.

“Before you cast your ballot, take a look at your daughters. Is this how you want them to think women should be treated?” 

“Is this a movement you want to be a part of?” the narrator asks over clips of white supremacists and QAnon believers. “The party of Trump has shown you who they are over and over and over. It’s time for you to show us who you are.”

As you probably saw on the news, Trump rednecks were harassing a Biden/Harris campaign bus in Texas. They surrounded the bus, were waving weapons, and one vehicle was nearly ran off the road. Donald Trump is upset the FBI is “investigating” it.

Here’s a tip, kids: If you’re going to do anything bad, do it while wearing a MAGA hat. You won’t be arrested immediately because the authorities will have to “investigate” it before any arrests are made. Even with this situation in Texas, they’re looking to see if the Biden/Harris people are at fault for having their bus surrounded by Trump goobers. His truck looked at my truck funny.

Donald Trump even claimed the MAGAt convoy was “protecting” the Biden/Harris bus. And he tweeted out a video of the incident with, “I love Texas.”
