The first underwater art gallery of its kind in Europe has “opened” off the Cannes coast.

Six sculptures by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor were submerged at the end of November in an area designated as an “eco-museum”.

The sculptures reflect the values of Cannes, said Régine Resbeut-Montanella, the town councillor leading the project.

“It came about by accident. I just happened to read about Jason’s work in a magazine and thought how perfect it would be for Cannes,” she said.

ONE OF OUR TRADITIONS

The holidays begin in our house when our decorations come out of the attic. In view of the pandemic and the travails we have all collectively experienced, our decorations came out earlier than usual.

It usually starts when the Xmas bedspreads are placed on the beds.

(Check on that!)

The colorful tree comes out and then it’s my job to get the dinning table ready.

Here’s my completed job.

(Love the colors: red, green, white and gold in all shades!)

We have been wondering … when we are gone, be it to live permanently on Puerto Rico or our time on earth is up, who will get all of these material things?

IMHO, SCOTUS has become a joke!! … Or, has it always been?

The biggest takeaway from the Supreme Court’s ruling that churches in New York can remain open, because placing restrictions on them is infringing upon their Constitutionally-protected religious freedom, is where the court will be years from now.

The court ruled on similar cases just a few months ago, and ruled 5-4, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the liberals, that the government can place restrictions on churches. On Wednesday night, it was another 5-4 ruling, this time in favor of the churches and again, with Roberts joining the liberals.

The big takeaway here is that Amy Coney Barrett was the vote putting it over the top. The last time the court voted on this, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was on the court and actually understood the case.

The argument here is that New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, was being harder on churches than places like retail businesses. But the thing is…
