President-elect Joe Biden teams up with Santa Claus to save Christmas from President Donald Trump in a new animated short that aired on Friday’s broadcast of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
In the 7-minute film called “Twas The Coup Before Christmas”, Biden visits Santa and asks him to grant him his wish of unifying the country following the divisive presidency of his predecessor.
But Trump, his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) are hellbent on proving the election was stolen from Trump – as Trump has falsely claimed in real life.
Talk about ‘stealing’ … there are still 29 days left! May things can be done in 29 days!!
“Trump has been removing Pentagon officials. Why? After overseeing the electoral count and declaring the winner in the Senate, Mike Pence is immediately leaving the country. Why? William Barr is stepping down as attorney general with just a month left before he has to leave. Why? What will the new AG do for Trump?” … this shyte ain’t over!!
The electoral college has voted and Joe Biden is the president-elect. Every state (in case you’re a Republican all 50 of them) and the District of Columbia have certified their votes and Joe Biden is the president-elect. Nearly 80 million people voted for Joe Biden and he is the president-elect. Donald Trump received nearly 7 million fewer votes than Joe Biden, and Joe Biden is the president-elect. Five states that went for Donald Trump in 2016 swung over to Joe Biden, and now Joe Biden the president-elect. Joe Biden received 306 electoral votes to Donald Trump’s 232, and now Joe Biden is the president-elect. Donald Trump has lost court case after court case, including two in the Supreme Court, and Joe Biden is the president-elect. Donald Trump lost the election and now Joe Biden is the president-elect.
Joe Biden is the president-elect. So, why are Republicans still strategizing to “win”…
Coffee, coffee, coffee … there’s a ceremony for it!! … ” Coffee ceremony was the most sacred home ritual there was.”
— Elizabeth Alexander, The Light of the World: A Memoir (Grand Central Publishing, April 21, 2015)’
The last word we heard Zememesh Berhe say was “bun,” which means coffee, in Tigrinya, and which stands for so much more that is encompassed in the Eritrean coffee ritual. Green coffee beans are roasted in a long-armed aluminum pot with the onomatopoeic name menkeshkesh, for the sounds the beans make when the person roasting shakes the pan gently, carefully watching for when the oils began to gleam and the beans to brown. Once the beans are roasted to the desired depth of flavor, the roaster takes the pan around the room, beginning with the eldest person present and going to each person, inviting them to fan the coffee smoke to smell it. We gave this job to Solo when he was just old enough to carry the hot pan. Then the beans are spread to cool on a straw mat called mishrafat, then ground and…
Sorry I missed the date yesterday. When I found the Google Doodle I understood the hoopla about this date. I can’t let it go by without celebrating the magnificence, uniqueness and importance of it.
At the same time, the Ursids meteor shower will send shooting stars streaking across the night sky.

Monday night brings an astronomical anomaly. It’s the longest night of the year for the Northern Hemisphere – the winter solstice – and it will feature both a meteor shower and a once-in-800-years “double planet.”
Jupiter and Saturn, which shine as bright as stars in the night sky, will appear so close to each other that they seem to touch. An alignment, or conjunction, between these two planets happens every 20 years, but the last time they looked this close from Earth’s vantage point was on March 4, 1226.
If it ends up cloudy on Monday, don’t worry. The conjunction will last through December 25. The solstice is just when the two planets will be at their very closest in the sky.

An animated Google Doodle celebrates winter solstice and the great conjunction.
It suggests one to keep eyes to the skies for the current ‘great conjunction’ of Saturn and Jupiter. In the Northern Hemisphere, Google, in collaboration with NASA, has replaced their homepage logo. December, this year, 21 marks the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
On December 21 an incredible, astronomic event known as the ‘great conjunction‘ is on the display. Jupiter and Saturn will come within 0.1 degrees of each other. The great conjunction occurs roughly every 20 years. Google has collaborated with NASA to craft an animated Doodle depicting the great conjunction.
Doodle shows Cartoon Saturn and Jupiter meeting up for a quick high five.
It also shows the winter solstice as the literally ‘snow capped’ Earth watching the other two planets.
A graphic shows what the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn will look like to the naked eye just after sunset in the Northern Hemisphere on December 21
