Republican Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn a delegation of lawmakers to the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas, amid concerns over the surge of unaccompanied minors crossing the border.
Cruz said at a press conference that the purpose of the trip was to “see firsthand the crisis that is unfolding” on the border. Seventeen Republican senators are joining Cruz and Cornyn on a tour of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility in Donna, Texas. Cruz posted a late-night video to Twitter on Thursday apparently depicting the border, in which he claimed that “human traffickers & cartel members” were “yelling at us across the Rio Grande and preparing to cross.”
As Republicans Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham continue to make more and more theatrical calls for increased border security, internet comedian Randy Rainbow is letting them know just how obnoxious he finds them both.
On Monday (April 5), Rainbow released his latest video, “Ted and Lindsey,” in which the comedian lampoons the two senators for their continualblunders over the last few months.
Throughout the hilarious song, Rainbow makes clear that Democrat or Republican, left or right, almost every American can agree on one thing: “Everyone loves to hate on Ted and Lindsey!”

“Like a puppet show … Maybe it breathed like a paper flower, expanding and contracting. Maybe it was something you did just to pass the time.” — Christine Smallwood, The LIfe of the Mind (Hogarth, March 2, 2021).
But now, Dorothy wondered: What was failure? What was success? Ribbons swirling in a cold tank. Life was not a story that ended on a resolution or a revelation. It was like this puppet show—a gentle, ongoing state of ups and downs that contained moments of illusory transcendence and ultimately built to nothing, no epiphanies, or so many epiphanies that they ran together and were forgotten. Maybe it breathed like a paper flower, expanding and contracting. Maybe it was something you did just to pass the time.
