We knew!! As if I needed more reasons to loathe this waste of human skin!! … there were 4,645 people who died after the storm. That is not an exact count of the hurricane dead. It’s one estimate that Harvard researchers published eight months after Maria, while the government’s official count was stuck at 64.

The Trump administration put upbureaucratic obstaclesthatstalled approximately $20 billion in hurricane relieffor Puerto Rico and then obstructed an investigation into the holdup, according to aninspector general reportobtained by The Washington Post.

Congressrequested the investigationinto the delays to recovery aid for Puerto Rico afterHurricanes Irma and Mariain 2017 left residents of the U.S. territorywithout power and clean waterfor months. But, the report said, former Housing and Urban Development secretary Ben Carson and another former HUD official declined to be interviewed by investigators during the course of the examination that began in 2019.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. Have lived in Florida since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs.
