Princess Diana …. “👑 ‘Always and Forever – 24 Years Ago Today’ 👑 …. “!!

~~August 31, 2021~~

Twenty four years ago, the world stopped for me.

I can barely begin to imagine how it stopped for her ‘boys’.

Princess Diana’s tragic death in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997 shocked the world. It would become one of the biggest news events of the 20th century.

Diana, Princess of Wales, was a member of the British royal family. She was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales – the heir apparent to the British throne – and mother of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Ida Know

“Hurricane Ida hit Port Fourchon, Louisiana on Sunday with 150-mph winds. She’s now a tropical storm passing through Mississippi and headed toward the mid-Atlantic states. Over one million homes and businesses are without power in Louisiana alone. Flash floods and tornadoes may be created on her tour through the south. So far, she’s responsible for four deaths.” — I don’t want to sound heartless but this takes me back to Hurricane Maía in Puerto Rico — that was really bad and all TFG did was through paper towels to the people there. Remember? That was painful to watch!!

As bad as Ida is, she’s not Katrina. That category 5 hurricane hit Louisiana with 174-mph winds, destroyed New Orleans, and killed at least 1,833 people. Ida was a category 4, which is still extremely bad, but this storm hit smaller communities. Yesterday, people in New Orleans were sweeping up and going for bicycle rides (according to The New York Times). People in smaller communities, like Grand Isle, LaPlace, and Houma, are recovering from extensive damage. The storm was strong enough to reverse the flow of the Mississippi River.

HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN 2020 AND 2021

REAL TEARS

I’m a retired physician. I’ve been retired for almost 9 years. I didn’t work in a hospital setting except during my early professional years. I have an idea how a hospital and its ICU work. I haven’t experienced what these healthcare workers are experiencing now in view of the COVID pandemic.

I can just extrapolate and just ‘imagine‘ what they are going through. I don’t know if I would have the wherewithall to kindly ‘treat’ anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers and those who, at the last moment ask for hellp when their actions were all against the medical reality.

I don’t think these ‘Americans‘ deserve the sacrifice these professionals are still providing to each and everyone who is addmitted at their facilities.

I pray for THEM so that they can continue with their ‘mission’ in spite of … !

That’s how this machine works

I also have a ‘aquiet machine’ … I can see myself doing the same!! … “That’s how this machine works.” — Ada Limón, excerpt from “The Quiet Machine”, in Bright Dead Things: Poems.

Live & Learn

There’s how I don’t answer the phone, and how I sometimes like to lie down on the floor in the kitchen and pretend I’m not home when people knock. There’s daytime silent when I stare, and a nighttime silent when I do things. There’s shower silent and bath silent and […] car silent and then there’s the silence that comes back, a million times bigger than me, sneaks into my bones and wails and wails and wails until I can’t be quiet anymore. That’s how this machine works.

Tuesday Thoughts …. “🙏🏽 ‘Always Be Thankful, No Matter What’ 🙏🏽 …. “!!

~~August 31, 2021~~

NO MATTER WHAT, BE THANKFUL

It may a difficult time, it’s not easy … some may say, ‘it’s easier said than done’.

I agree … yet, when you really think about it, it could also be worse.

Fun With Interpretations

Repuglicans are the scum of the earth! … “In addition to struggling with having no senses of humor, being oblivious to their own hypocrisy, failing wildly at using equivalences, and not having any understanding of irony, Republicans suck at comprehension.”

In addition to struggling with having no senses of humor, being oblivious to their own hypocrisy, failing wildly at using equivalences, and not having any understanding of irony, Republicans suck at comprehension. Sure, sometimes they do understand what was said or what they’re reading and they choose to conceal, bury, or lie about it, but that’s heaped on top of their inadequacy with the smarts.

Republicans love to identify themselves as “constitutionalists,” which is a joke because like with most things they claim, they’re the exact opposite. It’s like when they claim they’re more patriotic than anyone else while supporting an insurrection because they lost an election. That insurrection brings us back to the Constitution because these constitutionalists were trying to stop Congress from certifying the election…a process instructed…

Love, Hate, Terror

Enough said … “Ashli Babbitt was a terrorist. They were trying to prevent Congress from certifying the election, a process mandated by the United States Constitution. Ashli Babbitt was an Air Force veteran…and a terrorist.

Ashli Babbitt was the worst kind of terrorist because she had previously taken an oath to protect her country.”

She was with a crowd of fellow Trump terrorists smashing glass on the doors that led into the lobby of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Dominican Republic woman, 25, among US troops killed in Kabul blast

Una hermana Dominicana!! … Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo! — “Condolences poured in from across Massachusetts and dozens gathered in a vigil Saturday upon learning that a Marine from Massachusetts was among the U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.”

A report from the Concord Monitor.

Condolences poured in from across Massachusetts and dozens gathered in a vigil Saturday upon learning that a Marine from Massachusetts was among the U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The family of Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo was notified Friday evening and asked for privacy, said Jaime Melendez, director of veterans services in Lawrence, where Rosario attended high school.

“We will not allow her to be forgotten,” Melendez said.

Dozens attended a vigil in Rosario’s memory Saturday afternoon in Boston that was hosted by Massachusetts Fallen Heroes, an organization founded by veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“My veteran community is grieving. My Gold Star family members are feeling the shock all over again. Should it have happened? Never. What can we do as a community? We can stand behind the our military right now and…
