Walking. With Someday & Soon.

There’s trouble ahead indeed!! Multiple schools … “Gulls are arriving. The schools smell trouble and roil the surface. That someday and soon is Now.”

Live & Learn

479 consecutive days. Like in a Row.  Walking, at Cove Island Park.

~ 20 minutes before sunrise, and I’m walking the shoreline. It twitches. The surface stirs. Their bellies, silver flashes, mica flickering in twilight.

I look overhead. No gulls, no egrets, no herons. Enjoy your quiet time little people, while it lasts.

I keep walking. Multiple schools swirl ahead of me.

The Twilight Zone.

I walk.

Pages of James Tate Hill’s new memoir, Blind Man’s Bluff, turn. “It’s that meaning can rest in the smallest details, in every moment and gesture and line of dialogue.”

The middle aged Chinese woman runner. Hardy girl that she is, running every morning straight through the winter months. She no longer runs on Weed Avenue, the main artery to the Park.  She ducks in and out of the side streets.  Fearing assault? Retribution for the Chinese Virus?

Kabul’s Reapers

It’s time … end the war. Leave Afghanistan!! … “President Biden said to the terrorists responsible for this attack, “We will hunt you down.” He’s continuing the evacuations despite more threats. He said this is the worst day of his presidency. That is leadership. We will continue to evacuate Americans and refugees, and looking at our track record at finding and killing terrorists, we will hunt them down.

The worst thing that could come from this terrorist attack is that it makes us stay in Afghanistan longer. Quite frankly, that’s what terrorists want. It’s a lot easier to kill Americans over there than over here. We still have to leave Afghanistan…now.”

How bad is ISIS-K? The Taliban hates them.

We spent the past two decades fighting the Taliban. The Taliban created a safe haven for al Qaida to train and conduct their terrorism. Al Qaida attacked the United States at least three times from the comfort and safety of the Taliban’s Afghanistan. So when you hear the Taliban are upset over a terrorist attack by ISIS-K, it’s not that the Taliban hates terrorism…they just hate that brand of terrorism.

It’s like pumpkin spice coffee. Hating pumpkin spice coffee doesn’t mean I hate all coffee. ISIS-K is the pumpkin spice of terrorism just like Donald Trump is the pumpkin spice of American presidents.

The Taliban claims they are the new-and-improved Taliban. Donald Trump wanted a photo-op with them. Mike Pompeo did get a photo-op with them. Donald Trump wanted their leader released from an Afghanistan prison, and he’s now ruling over the…

Who’s Your Daddy?

Afghanistan Daddies alright!! … “George W. Bush is the daddy for our being in Afghanistan and Donald Trump is the daddy of this withdrawal failure and refugee crisis. Donald Trump has his nasty orange DNA all over it.”

I have put plenty of blame for the withdrawal of U.S. forces and refugees from Afghanistan on President Joe Biden. There is a lot of blame to go around, but the one thing I hate is when Democrats place all the blame on previous administrations as a way to deflect blame from President Biden. Yes, President Biden was handed a really bad deal, but he’s president. All presidents get bad deals from the previous administration.

Donald Trump walked into office hating basically everything the Obama administration left him that he couldn’t put his name on. He loved taking credit for the economy President Obama left him. He always boasted about how he made us energy independent even though President Obama had accomplished that in 2015.

But Donald Trump ripped apart our nuclear treaty with Iran. This move wasn’t just a stick in the eye to Iran, but a betrayal to…
