I live in FloriDUH!! The thought is THERE!! If only .. I agree but it isn’t that simple/easy!! … “If you live in Florida, WHY? For the love of God, why are you still in Florida? And, with Republicans all across the nation praising Ron DeSantis and saying, “Now that’s my kind of governor. Yee-Haw!,” there will be more MAGAt Yee-Haw fuckers moving to that state. Get out! Get out! Get the fuck out!”

Some days, I just can’t make this shit up.
Florida banned teachers from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity. Then Florida banned abortion after 15 weeks, even in the case of rape or incest. Now, they’re banning woke math. Seriously.
Republicans really hate when you refer to the homophobic legislation as the “Don’t say gay” bill, but it’s not like they ever called the Affordable Healthcare Act by its rightful name. Republicans point out that the term “don’t say gay” isn’t in the legislation, but that’s what it amounts to. To prove it doesn’t say gay, goons will post this test from the legislation: Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.
That text screams “don’t say gay.”…

As much as I have always hated anything with numbers (I get a blazing headache from them) this is another case of the stupid leading the stupider down the lilac path. But around here they no longer teach spelling or cursive writing, and for me the ultimate nightmare is hearing people use “I” when it should be “me”, thinking they sound intelligent when they misuse “I”. Sometimes I hate that my mother insisted we learn proper English, but then realize how stupid that is. But banning Math books, while it would have been my school day dream is the height of stupidity. I’m sure the kids all think it’s a wonderful thing though, unless the kids are smarter than the idiots doing the banning. Just which numbers are the ones that promote lifestyles? And since I was taught from birth that we were all made in the image of God I have always believed that. ALL! Not just the straight (now there is a word that makes me wonder) community. And how many of the Gay community really feel gay about it (using the old interpretation of the word which meant happy and festive), My brother fought the feelings for years before he finally accepted that he was meant to be what he wAS and not try to change himself. Now I’ll have to shed a few tears again because of thinking of him and his struggle to be while serving this country in the Air Force and not being promoted above Captain. Thirty years service then called back as a civilian employee because the person who took his place messed it all up. Twenty more years there before moving from Texas to Colorado where they couldn’t call him back again after the armed services payroll was messed up Again by the person
who tried to take his place.
Sorry about the tirade. I just can’t abide prejudice of any kind, except maybe against the stupid idiots who run the country these days.

I do tend to climb on my soapbox at times. Nothing makes me as mad as stupidity in idiots who can’t even speak proper English! I’m sure they would be more comfortable in the countries their families immigrated here from. Yeah, I know, that is improper English but I’m still rebelling from the years when I had to speak properly like the lady my mother wanted me to be. And at the same time I’m still steamed at the elephants in the room who are trying to set the world back to the times when very few people went to school and were proud of that. Pride has its place but to deny education to the poor is not that place. Climbing off my soapbox now. Searching for an aspirin.
