It Is What It Is 
I must be one of the lucky ones because I am 83 years old and Life has not broken me up as yet nor swallowed me. I do love and I do feel. In fact, I love and feel intensely because I like to savor the moment .. the nuances. Life to me is a delicious nectar flowing from the eternal seat of promise and even in the midst of darkness my life has been upward flowing with the promises of better things yet to come. There was always hope even in the moments that should have been my deepest despair. In fact, the moments of my deepest despair were always overcome by the sunshine of hope.
As to the apple trees … I have actually sat, in an orchard, underneath the apple trees gazing at the blossoms in the springtime and picking the apples when they were ripe and I remember the tantalizing and comforting odors of the apples and their trees and I have sat beneath them often contemplating things … I did a lot of the same things with hay stacks out in the farmers’ fields … lay beside the hay stack … or lay in the haystack … watching the clouds of summer drifting slowly above …
I am much a naturalist at heart and nature has always held me close in her bosom and the result has been nothing but positivity, light and a fuller sense of being alive …
It has all been something like mountain air in the springtime …the freshest possible air on the earth … The kind of air you find in places like the Upper Peninsula of Michigan .. or the West Texas desert … or the Floridian coast ….
And I have to admit that I have been privileged to have drunk deeply and often from that clear, crystalline well of Life’s brightest moments …and it has all been good.

I don’t know where you stand on religion but in my reading of Scriptures, I have concluded that Mankind was designed to be able to lead active, productive lives for a minimum of 120 years.

I was born and raised Catholic; went through all ceremonies, rites of passage, schooling & the like … at this time not practicing any. Still believe in good, goodness, right vs wrong.
Like to think I’m a ‘good’ person!!
