I am a citizen of the world
and my home is my abode:
Rivers, lakes and valleys
are my sources of life;
Trees, birds and mountains
are my pride!
I am a citizen of the world
and my home is my abode:
Seas, fishes and oceans
are my sources of hope;
Shorelines, rocks and beaches
are my cliches!
I am a citizen of the world
and my peace is your company:
My children, relatives and friends
are my sources of strength;
Their love, care and tender touch
are my tabernacles.
I am a citizen of mankind
and the whole world is my abode.
Homosexuality has been a taboo subject in India for as long as one can recall. But slowly, that has been changing. Despite the legality of such a sexual orientation, people are feigning no qualms about portraying it in art.
This ad from Anouk Ethnic Apparel’s ‘Bold Is Beautiful‘ campaign shows a lesbian couple getting ready to meet the parents of one of them. It explores the idea of coming out of the closet and the simple emotion that is love.
The first Indian advertisement to feature a lesbian couple has gone viral, the Times of India reports, and its creators hope that it will have a positive influence on the way homosexuality is viewed a socially conservative country where it is still against the law.
The online video shows two women in a live-in relationship flirting and dressing up for the day, chatting about the expectations they face and their love for each other.

SeaWorld enslaves animals in small tanks at marine parks around the country, where they are forced to perform unnecessary tricks for “entertainment.” It’s a business built on the suffering of intelligent, social animals who are denied everything that is natural and important to them. As a result, animals imprisoned by SeaWorld often die prematurely from stress and other captivity-related causes.
SeaWorld, which owns all but one of the orcas held captive in the U.S., has a long history of mistreating animals. In the wild, orcas are intelligent predators who work cooperatively in search of food. They share intricate relationships in a matrilineal society.
In some populations, orcas rarely leave their mother’s pod, but at SeaWorld, they are often separated. These attributes, along with wild orca pods’ unique dialects, are considered a form of culture that is unrivaled by any species other than humans. Free orcas are among the fastest animals in the sea, and they swim as far as 100 miles every day. But at SeaWorld, they swim in endless circles in small barren concrete tanks.
To help all animals held captive by SeaWorld, please never buy a ticket, visit the parks, or support SeaWorld in any other way.
We don’t collect killer whales from the wild and haven’t for 35 years.
We set the highest standard of care for marine mammals in the world.
Government research shows our killer whales live just as long as those in the wild.
~~If SeaWorld Commercials Told the Truth~~
~~Published on Jun 17, 2015~~
SeaWorld has been plastering the airways with lies, so we thought we’d set the record straight.
At SeaWorld, animals are kept in tiny tanks, where they are forced to perform meaningless tricks for human “entertainment.” It’s a business built on the suffering of intelligent, social animals who are denied everything that’s natural and important to them.
As a result, animals imprisoned by SeaWorld often die prematurely from illnesses related to stress and the adverse living conditions in captivity.
The truth is, SeaWorld doesn’t care about the animals in its tanks. The only thing that SeaWorld cares about is profits.
Air pollution in Asia may be changing weather patterns in the United States
BY CLARA CHAISSON
Increasingly intense storms in the United States might have an unexpected origin: Asian air pollution. Researchers from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory have found that aerosols from across the Pacific strengthen extra-tropical cyclones — a type of storm system that drives much of our country’s weather.
Asia is home to the world’s 20 most polluted cities, but that dirty air doesn’t stay put, as the above animation of aerosol emissions shows. Water vapor in the atmosphere condenses around particles, and an influx of particulate matter — say, from a coal-fired power plant — can produce bigger, badder clouds. So far, the atmospheric scientists have only looked at how pollution from the continent affects North American weather, but they expect that the effects are global in scale. When countries around the world finalize carbon emissions commitments this year, let’s hope they remember we’re on different sides of the same planet.
My dear blogger friend David at “Live & Learn” posted information today which sent me searching. (He has a knack of doing that …. maybe he does it on purpose).
“Brussels-based photographer Jeffrey Vanhoutte created this stunning project featuring an acrobatic dancer displaying various expressive poses that seem to be frozen in time. The dancer throws clouds of powdered milk up in the air while fulfilling graceful and fluid movements. Jeffrey Vanhoutte captured them in film and photo though as he states it took even longer too clean up the mess than to actually create the images.”

If Politicians Wore Their Sponsors Like NASCAR Drivers
“Shouldn’t every politician wear logos on their jacket so we know who their sponsors are?
My name is Gil Fulbright, honest politician, and I’m only in this thing for the money. The 2014 elections will be the most expensive midterms in American history, and I want a piece of that action.
I’m running for Kentucky Senate against Mitch McConnell and Alison Lundergan Grimes to bring a little honesty to the most expensive Senate race in the history of the United States (and of course, build hype for a potential run in 2016 — I could totally score a book deal or a talk show if I play my cards right).”
