Hello!
My name is Heather Rooney.
I am an illustrator specializing in photorealistic colored pencil and graphite drawings.
Since finding my passion for portrait and figure drawing in high school, I have developed a technique focusing on high attention to detail. I draw my inspiration from a broad range of cultural figures, such as sport athletes, media personalities and entertainment professionals.
With each illustration requiring many hours of work, ranging from 30 hours to 100+ hours, I share my process through time-lapse videos on my YouTube channel, which has generated over 60 million views from a global audience.
I received my B.A. in Studio Art at Emmanuel College, in the vibrant city of Boston, Massachusetts. I am now pursuing a career in illustration.
Polina Semionova (born 13 September 1984) is a Russian ballet dancer who is currently a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre. She also has an older brother, Dmitry Semionov, who is now a principal in the Staatsballett Berlin.
Studying at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow, Russia, she won awards in the top ballet competitions; including a gold medal at the Moscow International Ballet Competition 2001, First Prize at the Vaganova-Prix Ballet Competition in St Petersburg 2002, and Junior Prize at the Nagoya (Japan) International Ballet Competition 2002.
Graduating in 2002, Semionova joined the Ballet Staatsoper Berlin as a principal upon the invitation of Vladimir Malakhov, becoming the youngest principal in the company’s history at the age of 18. She toured Japan as Malakhov’s partner, the reason he had invited her to be a principal in the company. He gave her the lead roles in The Nutcracker and La Bayadère during her first season, following with the role of Tatiana in , which became her favorite role.
In 2003, at the age of 19, Semionova performed with the English National Ballet in Swan Lake, receiving approving reviews from English critics.
The following year she joined the California Ballet in their production of The Sleeping Beauty, again impressing critics despite what they termed a disappointing overall ballet.
I’ve been following this season with more enthusiasm than ever before. From the day Season 21 started, I’ve been following, admiring and rooting for Bindi.
Last night, the freestyle which Derek choreographed for her was simply amazing and unforgettable.
She has been consistent in her performances. She has improved so much as the weeks have passed. She seems to be older than her years. The support of her family and loved ones has been remarkable. The presence of her father, Steve, has been quite notable.
Tonight is the night.
I’m holding my breath because I really hope she wins the mirrored trophy.
I found this YouTube video which shows the complete evolution, the practice, the reasoning, the performance and the judging of the dance.
Bindi Irwin reduces Dancing With The Stars audience to tears as she breaks down during emotional performance in memory of her late father Steve
BIANCA SOLDANI FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA
There was hardly a dry eye in the Dancing With The Stars arena on Monday night after frontrunner Bindi Irwin took to the stage for a heartfelt tribute dance.
The Australian teenager couldn’t keep her composure and fell sobbing into the arms of her partner Derek Hough, after a childhood image of herself with her late father Steve flashed up at the end of her sequence.
The judging panel and studio audience members were visibly moved by the outpouring of emotion and many were seen wiping their eyes.
I’ve had enough, why we cannot get on with each other I’ve never known times so rough, Where ‘o’ where has all the love gone Why show the hate with a roadside bomb, Freedom riots crushed with tanks, Write about flowers and beautiful nature?
No thanks Stop the World I Want to Get Off! Countries with no one to kill rape the earth Destroying forests so fast leaving nothing but dearth, Then boffins who can’t make a car that can go slow That so many road victims so early to heaven must go. To top the hate cake 911 shook the world As the news and horror unfurled, Stop the World I Want to Get Off! I’ve booked a flight on the first shuttle leaving soon To live with that loving man who lives on the moon, I know those with love who are left will win in the end, but I must leave now or I’ll go round the bend.
This is a disease that knows no bounds. There are no classes are spared. It attacks all walks of life …. no differences here. From famous to unknown, from rich to poor, from educated to illiterate. This disease is does not discriminate. Doesn’t matter who you are. Anyone can be infected.
World AIDS Day, observed on 1 December every year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, and mourning those who have died of the disease. World AIDS Day is one of the eight official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO), along with World Health Day, World Blood Donor Day, World Immunization Week, World Tuberculosis Day, World No Tobacco Day, World Malaria Day and World Hepatitis Day. Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and civil rights advocate Madam C.J. Walker famously became the first female self-made millionaire in America. Born in 1867 as Sarah Breedlove in Delta, Louisiana, Walker was the first child in her family born into freedom following the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation; Walker’s parents and elder siblings had been slaves on the Madison Parish plantation. Orphaned by age 7, Walker was married and then widowed by the time she was 20.
Seeking more opportunities for herself and her young daughter, Walker moved to St. Louis where she began experimenting with home remedies to treat scalp diseases. Due to a widespread lack of indoor plumbing and infrequent bathing, many people at the time, including Walker, suffered from scalp diseases and hair loss. Over time, she developed her own line of hair products especially designed to meet the needs of black women and founded the Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company.
To promote her hair products, she embarked on a sales drive throughout the South, holding demonstrations and selling her goods door to door. In 1908, she opened a college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to train “hair culturists.” Within two years, she moved to Indianapolis to set up her national headquarters and began training other African American women in setting up their own businesses, often as licensed Walker Agents selling her line of hair care products. At its peak, her company employed over 3,000 people.
Walker was active in the social and political issues of the day, including joining leaders of the NAACP in their efforts to make lynching a federal crime. She also made many financial contributions to help support African American schools, organizations, orphanages, and retirement homes, among them the largest contribution to preserve the Washington, DC home of the famous abolitionist Frederick Douglass.
By the time of her death at age 51, this pioneering businesswoman had become the first American woman to become a self-made millionaire. Well-known for both her diligence and perseverance, Walker once stated, “There is no royal flower-strewn path to success. And if there is, I have not found it – for if I have accomplished anything in life it is because I have been willing to work hard.”
Madam C.J. Walker, one of the great American entrepreneurs of the early 20th century, was born to former slaves and grew up in destitution. In this Inside the Vaults video short, her great-great granddaughter, A’Lelia Bundles, tells Madam Walker’s story with help from documents in the National Archives.
I don’t profess to be any legal scholar. I don’t know all the details of this case. I will leave that to the professionals and those in the legal system who should be working on this. However, I have been following this case closely through the posts presented in the blogospshere.
I feel for the family, for the town, for the state and for the nation.
THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE SINCE THE CIVIL RIGHTS DEMONSTRATIONS
The problem seems to be “walking while black”.
Call for calm … but don’t expect it. This is a wound that hasn’t been healed in a long time and keeps getting “salt” spread unto it.

Alex Boye, mom bloggers celebrate Mother’s Day with Katy Perry ‘Roar‘ cover
In honor of Mother’s Day 2014, singer Alex Boye paid tribute to moms around the world with his Africanized cover of Katy Perry’s “Roar.”
In Boye’s new video, he collaborated with several mom bloggers, including Sistas in Zion — two women who blog about their Mormon faith and who were featured in a Deseret News article in August 2013.
Boye, also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently gave a concert at a blogging conference in Utah, where one of the bloggers asked him to do a video with them.
Boye said he thought that was a good idea, and he wanted to make a video to the song “Roar.”
“I told them that women reminded me of swans,” Boye said. “I told them to picture the way a swan floats effortlessly and gracefully. Perfectly poised on a crystal clear pond, where hardly a ripple can be seen. But what we don’t see underneath the water are tiny little feet flapping at turbo speed like twin turbine engines!”

I think you can tell that I am an ardent Lindsey Stirling fan. I found out about her when I saw here “Elements” YouTube video. I have been following her since. I was once told that she started in “America’s Got Talent” but I’ve never followed that show.
Here what happened during her participation in that reality show.
Raised in a Mormon community in Arizona, Lindsey studied classical music rigorously as a teenager. Lindsey’s love for the violin would not let go, and it became a comfort throughout her struggle with an eating disorder during her early adulthood. Through this passion, Lindsey has created a music world where the romance of Celtic folk music and modern classical meet the infectious energy of dance and electronica.
On stage, Stirling moves with the grace of a ballerina but works the crowd into a frenzy, “dropping the beat” like a rave fairy. Stirling is the model of a modern independent recording artist, with a symbiotic relationship with her fans. She is famed for taking “requests” and has recorded unique versions of the themes from “Phantom Of The Opera” and “Game Of Thrones”, the computer games “Zelda,” “Pokemon,” and “Skyrim,” as well as pop songs by Michael Jackson and Rihanna; She uploads them all to Lindseystomp, a secondary YouTube channel packed with music videos and short comedy films, many featuring her alter-ego – a ‘superfan’ named Phelba.
Audition
Lindsey Stirling’s audition in Episode 510 consisted of playing the violin in a hip-hop style. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted “Yes,” sending Lindsey to the Vegas Round.
When the time came for the most important performance, these were the judges’ comments.
~~PIERS~~
“You’re not good enough, I don’t think, to get away with flying through the air and try to play the violin at the same time.”
~~SHARON~~
“You need to be in a group. What you are doing right now isn’t enough to fill a theater in Las Vegas”.
~~HOWIE~~
“You are great. That much movement threw off your playing.”

~I GUESS SHE PROVED THEM ALL WRONG~
After the Show
Being voted off “America’s Got Talent” turned out to be what she considers the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Rejection simply strengthened Stirling’s resolve to be herself. “The same reasons I was told I wouldn’t succeed are the reasons people travel hundreds of miles to see me now,” she laughs. “Because it’s different. Because it’s something you haven’t seen before …”
Since the show, Lindsey has flourished as an artist.
A classically trained violinist from Gilbert, AZ, Lindsey has entered a futurist world of electronic big beats and animation, leaping through the music industry with over 675 million views on YouTube, Billboard chart-topping hits and sold out tours worldwide.
Lindsey’s self-titled debut album featured twelve original tracks; including the viral piece “Crystallize,” which has racked up over 97 million YouTube views.
