JOHN WINSTON LENNON

This day, 35 years ago, marks the passing of English singer
and songwriter and former member of The Beatles, John Lennon.
(Born John Winston Lennon; Oct. 9, 1940 – 8 Dec.19, 80)

John Lennon was an English musician who gained worldwide fame as one of the members of the Beatles, for his subsequent solo career, and for his political activism and pacifism.

He was shot by “a deranged American gunman” (I refuse to use his name) in the archway of the building where he lived, The Dakota, in New York City on 8 December 1980.

Lennon had just returned from Record Plant Studio with his wife, Yoko Ono.

After sustaining four fatal gunshot wounds, Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at Roosevelt Hospital. He was 40 years old.

At the hospital, it was stated that nobody could have lived for more than a few minutes after sustaining such injuries. Shortly after local news stations reported Lennon’s death, crowds gathered at Roosevelt Hospital and in front of the Dakota.

Lennon was cremated on 10 December 1980 at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York. The ashes were given to Ono, who chose not to hold a funeral for him.

You don’t have to be a Republican.

You don’t have to be a Democrat.

All you have to be is a human being.

There’s compassion for the fellowmen and women.

There’s charity for the needy.

There’s also a law known as the “Americans with Disabilities Act”.

There’s the “Golden Rule”.

Mainly there’s common sense.

This man truly believes that he’s above everyone and everyone.

He doesn’t care about badmouthing or disrespecting anyone. Remember the Mexicans, John McCain, Megyn Kelly, “illegal immigrants, Jorge Ramos, Black Lives Matter …. and so many others.

The list is endless.

Donald Trump Slammed For Mocking Disabled New York Times Reporter Serge Kovaleski

Speaking at a rally in South Carolina on Tuesday night Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump seems to mock New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, who has a chronic condition called arthrogryposis which affects the movement of his arms.

Trump imitates Kovaleski while defending comments he has made over the past few weeks, asserting that members of the Muslim communities in New Jersey celebrated following the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers in 2001.

The New York Times has slammed Trump’s actions as ‘outrageous’.

Paris Attacks Kill More Than 100, Police Say; Border Controls Tighter

The Paris area reeled Friday night, November 13, 2015, from a shooting rampage, explosions and mass hostage-taking that President François Hollande called an unprecedented terrorist attack on France. His government announced sharply increased border controls and heightened police powers as it mobilized the military in a national emergency.

French television and news services quoted the police as saying that around 100 people had been killed at a concert site where hostages had been held during a two-hour standoff with the police, and that perhaps dozens of others had been killed in apparently coordinated attacks outside the country’s main sports stadium and four other popular locations in the city.

But estimates on the total number of dead varied.

We are already in mid-November.

Yet, I’ve been featuring some of Bindi Irwin’s awesome dancing and this one needs to be included.

For Halloween, Bindi and Derek danced the Argentine Tango.

Team Crikey performed an Argentine Tango, which earned them a total of 30 points from the judges, topping the leaderboard!

It’s hard to overstate just how dedicated and positive Bindi is.

Derek’s words here give us a hint:

“Since it’s Halloween, I’ll leave you with a story that is simultaneously gross and indicative of how awesome Bindi is. Yesterday, she had her socks off and my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw her feet.

Three of her toenails have fallen off, she had huge blisters all over and bruises on her knees.

It was not pretty!

She was like, “Oh, yeah, they fell off yesterday. That one was bleeding last night.” I was like, “Bindi, you gotta tell me.” And she was like, “Oh, it’s nothing.” I said, “No, I gotta know when you’re hurting.” She was like, “No, really, I’m fine. It’s not a big deal.”

I’ve had partners who needed to take a 20-minute break if it’s one little blister.

Bindi is a badass.”

It was an emotional and perfect night for actress Alexa PeñaVega on “Dancing With the Stars” on Monday, November 9, 2015.

The “Spy Kids” actress danced her way into the hearts of the judges with two perfect scores for the night, but it was not enough to bring her back for next week.

The 27-year-old opened the night with an emotional contemporary dance after revealing that she struggled with an eating disorder for many years.

“I remember shooting this movie, and the producers kept telling me, ‘You’re just too fat,’ and as child you don’t know how to handle that,” she told pro partner Mark Ballas during a pre-taped rehearsal.

“So from that moment, for the next six years of my life, I had an eating disorder.”

PeñaVega revealed she had bulimia

“I struggled with bulimia for so long, and, even though I got through it, I feel think like a lot of my insecurities still with my body is from that,” she added.

Ballas used her experience as inspiration for the choreography, and PeñaVega was more than willing to take it on. She said she wants to use her story to help others struggling with their own demons.

“This was a part of my life that I was also so afraid of people finding out, but I knew that at some point I was going to talk about because I knew I wanted to help people,” PeñaVega said.

“It’s intense, but I think strangely beautiful.”

President Obama Rejects Keystone XL Pipeline Proposal

The pipeline would carry about 800,000 barrels of oil per day from Alberta to Gulf Coast refineries. Environmentalists worry about about the climate and environmental impacts the pipeline could have, including dramatically higher greenhouse gas emissions and a heightened risk of oil spills.

President Barack Obama announced Friday, November 6, 2015,  that he is rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline proposal, saying the project “would not serve the interests of the United States.”

The president cited concerns about the impact on the environment and a political climate that over-hyped the pipeline’s benefit.
