The legality of cannabis for general or recreational use varies from country to country.
Possession of cannabis is illegal in most countries as a result of the agreement about Indian hemp, also known as hashish, in the International Opium Convention (1925). However, many countries have decriminalized the possession of small quantities of cannabis.
Some states in the US allow use of medical cannabis in state, territorial, Indian reservation, and Federal district laws, although the use is illegal by federal law. Federal agencies claim that federal law comes first.
More specifically, she is the most amazing cat on the planet.
In July of 2011, she was discovered as the runt of a healthy feral litter in a tool shed in rural Indiana at only a few weeks old. She was taken in as a rescue when it was clear that she would require special care. Since then BUB has become one of the most famous cats on planet.
She is a published author, a talk show host, the star of an award winning documentary, and has helped raise over $200,000 for animals in need.
Shortly after turning one year old, BUB was diagnosed with an exceptionally rare bone condition called osteopetrosis.

This video has been presented before in this blog.
The message is so intense, real and to the point that we wish to share it again. I read a post by Mavadelo this morning which reminded me of this video. A previous post about perpetual war has taken me down the path that something needs to happen to change our world. They say …. “be the change”.
It all has to be at the personal level. Many times it seem like an impossible task. Many times despair, doubt and disappointment set in. Yet … what will happen if we give up. The battle to improve is endless and against immense foes.
Never give up!

“You are one. You are unique. You are important. You are special.
One song can spark a moment. One flower can wake the dream. One tree can start a forest. One bird can herald spring. One smile begins a friendship. One handclasp lifts a soul. One star can guide a ship at sea. One word can set the goal. One vote can change a nation. One sunbeam can light a room. One candle wipes out darkness. One laugh will conquer gloom. On step starts each journey. One word must start each prayer. One hope will raise our spirits. One touch can show you care. One voice can speak with wisdom. One heart can know what’s true. One life can make the difference.
It’s up to you. Be bold. Be courageous. Be proud. Be yourself.

(The song used in this video is called “My Name is Lincoln” by Steve Jablonsky.)
“Tyler Blaine Genneken was the inspiration in making this video. Tyler was a young boy in our community in Indiana, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the Summer of 2006. After a 40 month battle with Cancer, sadly he passed away. He was 14 years old. Before Tyler died, his story and his request that others help him fight Cancer, resulted in hundreds of units of blood being donated, and more than 2,000 people joining “Be The Match” (the national bone marrow registry). He is a Hero.”
Starting his social work as a paramedic, young Patrick soon comes into contact with patients who are all suffering from the same problem: loneliness …
Loneliness is a complex and usually unpleasant emotional response to isolation or lack of companionship. Loneliness typically includes anxious feelings about a lack of connectedness or communality with other beings, both in the present and extending into the future. As such, loneliness can be felt even when surrounded by other people. The causes of loneliness are varied and include social, mental or emotional factors.
Research has shown that loneliness is widely prevalent throughout society among people in marriages, relationships, families and successful careers.
It has been a long explored theme in the literature of human beings since classical antiquity.
Loneliness has also been described as social pain — a psychological mechanism meant to alert an individual of isolation and motivate him/her to seek social connections.
A carbonated drink is a beverage that has dissolved carbon dioxide, most often to improve the taste and/or texture.
Sugar is the generalized name for sweet, short-chain, soluble carbohydrates, many of which are used in food. They are carbohydrates, composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. There are various names for fake food including pretend food, wax food, artificial food, faux food, replica food, imitation food, food replicas, false foods, food fakes, and simulated food.
Food processing is the transformation of raw ingredients, by physical or chemical means into food, or of food into other forms. Food processing combines raw food ingredients to produce marketable food products that can be easily prepared and served by the consumer. Food processing typically involves activities such as mincing and macerating, liquefaction, emulsification, cooking (such as boiling, broiling, frying, or grilling), pickling and preservation, canning or jarring (primary-processing such as dicing or slicing, freezing or drying when leading to secondary products are also included).
I have been following Jamie Dunmore on his Facebook page, his Twitter feed and his YouTube channel. I found a surprise tonight.
Seems to be he’s been doing more than “spoken word” poetry and work. This is a side of him that I’m getting to know now.
This is a video that touches my heart not only because of the human factor presented but also because Haiti is a country near Puerto Rico, where I come from. Haiti is on the west coast of the second of the bigger Antilles. It’s part of me in some distant way … like a distant relative.
Who is Jamie Dunmore?
“I’m a 21 year old aspiring Public Figure/Speaker/Activist that’s trying to expand the human consciousness.”

“Do Something”
I woke up this morning Saw a world full of trouble now Thought, how’d we ever get so far down How’s it ever gonna turn around So I turned my eyes to Heaven I thought, “God, why don’t You do something?” Well, I just couldn’t bear the thought of People living in poverty Children sold into slavery The thought disgusted me So, I shook my fist at Heaven Said, “God, why don’t You do something?” He said, “I did, I created you”
If not us, then who If not me and you Right now, it’s time for us to do something If not now, then when Will we see an end To all this pain It’s not enough to do nothing It’s time for us to do something
I’m so tired of talking About how we are God’s hands and feet But it’s easier to say than to be Live like angels of apathy who tell ourselves It’s alright, “somebody else will do something” Well, I don’t know about you But I’m sick and tired of life with no desire I don’t want a flame, I want a fire I wanna be the one who stands up and says, “I’m gonna do something”
If not us, then who If not me and you Right now, it’s time for us to do something If not now, then when Will we see an end To all this pain It’s not enough to do nothing It’s time for us to do something
We are the salt of the earth We are a city on a hill (shine shine, shine shine) But we’re never gonna change the world By standing still No we won’t stand still No we won’t stand still No we won’t stand still
If not us, then who If not me and you Right now, it’s time for us to do something If not now, then when Will we see an end To all this pain It’s not enough to do nothing It’s time for us to do something

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is working diligently to take care of homeless veterans, but the scope of the problem is so vast that no one agency can do it alone. Eradicating homelessness among veterans requires partnerships between a myriad of government and private entities. Think of it like the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. While the government funds a considerable amount of medical research, those organizations have existed for years because of the general public’s desire to see even more done in the fight against killer diseases.
In our case, the fight is against homelessness and the despair, PTSD, substance abuse and other factors that contribute to homelessness. If you agree that veterans facing these life-threatening challenges, many the result of serving in combat, deserve more help than the government can provide, we ask you to contribute.
New Report Reveals Nation Still Not Fully Equipped to Support Women Veterans
While the federal government has raced to establish programs to serve combat veterans, the current system that awaits women transitioning from military service is a disjointed patchwork of programs marked by serious gaps in health care, housing, other community support services, employment and efforts to eradicate sexual assault, according to a landmark report released today by Disabled American Veterans.
A veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001. It operates as a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization with a mission to “honor and empower Wounded Warriors” of the c, as well as provide services and programs for the family members of its registered “alumni,” as its registered veterans are called.

Christmas is fast approaching. There are seven days left before the holiday is upon us. This has been quite the year. As it comes to an end, we hope that this new coming year be better in many aspects.
“It Is What It Is” will feature a special song every night as the countdown approaches.
~Band Aid 30 2014 recording LIVE~
Celebrating Thirty Years
“Do They Know It’s Christmas?” is a song written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in 1984 to raise money for relief of the 1983–85 famine in Ethiopia. The original version was produced by Midge Ure and released byBand Aid on 28 November 1984.
In October 1984, a BBC television report by Michael Buerk was aired in the UK, which highlighted the famine that had hit the people of Ethiopia. Irish singer Bob Geldof saw the report and was inspired to raise money to relieve those affected by the famine. He called Midge Ure from Ultravox and together they quickly co-wrote the song, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”.
Updates as Bob Geldof, One Direction, Adele and more join forces
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Do They Know It’s Christmas recording, Bob has once again gathered the biggest names in music for a huge collaboration
One Direction joined Sir Bob Geldof and a whole host of fellow stars in London to record the charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?“
The likes of Rita Ora, Ed Sheeran, Bono, Chris Martin, Jessie Ware, Paloma Faith, Emeli Sande, Bastille and Elbow all took part and sang lyrics which had been changed slightly to reflect the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
Sir Bob gave an emotional speech to the Band Aid 30 line-up and told them: “Today you join Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd and all those other people who at one time have done something for Band Aid.”
In 1984, Band Aid and Live Aid were formed to help those suffering as a result of the Ethiopian famine
Since then the world has changed dramatically and nowhere more so than in Africa. Across the continent, there has been hugely inspiring and positive change. Poverty is on the decline. Seven of the ten of the fastest growing economies are in Africa.
Child mortality rates have decreased significantly, AIDS contagion levels are beginning to recede, and more children – especially girls – are in school than ever before.
Yet Ebola has struck parts of West Africa. The World Health Organization has said that the outbreak is “unparalleled in modern times”. The UN has recently called for a fivefold increase in government contributions to the fight against Ebola, and more skilled healthworkers are still needed. This is why Band Aid 30 exists
