If anyone has any doubts about this man’s feelings, they should be clear now.

This is the man who is responsible for the continued oppression and carnage occurring in Palestine.

All under the guise of the right of the Israel state to exist at the expense of the Palestinian people.

How stupid does he think we are?

How stupid and biased  does he sound? “Bibi” is giving himself away.

This shows the degree of hatred he possesses for Israel’s neighboring country … what is left of it.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provoked controversy Wednesday, October 21, 2015, hours before a visit to Germany, by saying the former Muslim elder in Jerusalem convinced Adolf Hitler to exterminate the Jews.

In a speech to the Zionist Congress late Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Netanyahu referred to a series of attacks by Muslims against Jews in Palestine during the 1920’s that he said were instigated by the then-mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini.

Husseini famously flew to visit Hitler in Berlin in 1941, and Netanyahu said that meeting was instrumental in the Nazi leader’s decision to launch a campaign to annihilate the Jews.

“Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jews,” Netanyahu said in the speech. “And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here.’

“‘So what should I do with them?’” Netanyahu said Hitler asked the mufti, who responded: “‘Burn them.’”

Palestinian officials said Netanyahu appeared to be absolving Hitler of the murder of 6 million Jews in order to lay the blame on Muslims. Twitter was awash with criticism.

“It is a sad day in history when the leader of the Israeli government hates his neighbor so much that he is willing to absolve the most notorious war criminal in history, Adolf Hitler, of the murder of 6 million Jews,” said Saeb Erekat, the Palestine Liberation Organization’s secretary general.

“Mr. Netanyahu should stop using this human tragedy to score points for his political end,” said Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator with the Israelis.

Even Netanyahu’s defense minister, close ally Moshe Yaalon, said the prime minister had got it wrong.

I have been researching and posting information about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict for a while.

I wasn’t really following the situation and there is still more that I need to educate myself about.

However, you’d have to be a blind person to deny that this inherently wrong.

Here’s a mightly country, back by American resources, military aid and support in a situation that clearly shows two very unequal sides.

To me, this is a clear case of “David and Goliath”. The mighty one has been battering the weaker one without any time to recover.

The Palestinians are “trapped” in the land that they still have.

Yet, they are surrounded by fences, guards, cehckpoints, constant bombing and shelling.

And again, they are incited to more violence by undercover Israeli agents who posed as Palestinians.

This is wrong.

Many undercover Israeli soldiers join Palestinian protests as agent provocateur and incite protesters to hurl stones at Israeli soldiers, then they draw their guns and start helping their fellow military members in arresting the protesters.

Disguised as Palestinian protesters, the Israeli infiltrating team was caught on camera by several journalists in the vicinity of the illegally-built Israeli settlement of Beit El near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

The video also shows Palestinian protesters running from the scene while Israeli agents – who were shooting toward the crowd with their handguns – help other Israeli soldiers in giving a torrent of kicks and punches on the captured protesters.

Historic raising of Palestinian flag at United Nations

It’s a watershed moment that has won support on many fronts, but drawn condemnation from Israel and the United States.

The Palestinian flag was raised outside the headquarters of the United Nations in New York for the first time Wednesday. Under cloudy skies, the politically sensitive flag raising ceremony took place at 1:16 p.m. at the U.N.’s Rose Garden.

The historic moment came after Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas told the U.N. General Assembly that the Palestinian Authority was no longer bound by the Oslo Peace Accords.

At the ceremony, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called the occasion a “day of pride for the Palestinian people around the world” and a “day of hope.”

During his General Assembly speech, however, Abbas accused Israel of not committing to the Oslo Accords and, in response said,

“They leave us no choice but to insist that we will not remain the only ones committed to the implementation of these agreements, while Israel continuously violates them.”

Abbas declared what he called “Palestine” as a “state under occupation.”

“We therefore declare that we cannot continue to be bound by these agreements and that Israel must assume all of its responsibilities as an occupying power, because the status quo cannot continue,” Abbas said.

The Oslo Accords are a series of peace agreements between Israel and the Palestinians signed in the 1990’s.

The consequences of Abbas’ declaration remain unclear, and its practical effects on the relations between Israelis and Palestinians are uncertain, including its effects on security coordination between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

The flag-raising ceremony puts the spotlight on the Palestinians and highlights their ongoing efforts to obtain statehood, but it needs to be more than a symbolic act for it to be meaningful, Palestinians say.

THE INVASION CONTINUES  ON OCCUPIED LANDS

Israeli settlements are Israeli civilian communities built on lands occupied by Israel since the 1967 Six-Day War. Such settlements currently exist in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and in the Golan Heights. Settlements previously existed in the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip until Israel evacuated the Sinai settlements following the 1979 Israel-Egypt peace agreement and from the Gaza Strip in 2005 under Israel’s unilateral disengagement plan.

Israel dismantled 18 settlements in the Sinai Peninsula in 1982, and all 21 in the Gaza Strip and 4 in the West Bank in 2005, but continues to both expand its settlements and settle new areas in the West Bank, despite pressure to desist from the international community.

The international community considers the settlements in occupied territory to be illegal,and the United Nations has repeatedly upheld the view that Israel’s construction of settlements constitutes a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Israeli neighborhoods in East Jerusalem and communities in the Golan Heights, the latter of which has been annexed by Israel, are also considered settlements by the international community, which does not recognize Israel’s annexations of these territories. The International Court of Justice also says these settlements are illegal in a 2004 advisory opinion.

In April 2012, UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon, in response to moves by Israel to legalize Israeli outposts, reiterated that all settlement activity is illegal, and

“runs contrary to Israel’s obligations under the Road Map and repeated Quartet calls for the parties to refrain from provocations.”

Similar criticism was advanced by the EU and the US. Israel disputes the position of the international community and the legal arguments that were used to declare the settlements illegal.

ISRAELI PALESTINIAN CONFLICT

I’m learning many things since I’ve started this blogging journey almost three years ago.

One of the things I’ve noticed is that, even though I consider I had a complete and thorough education, many topics were ignored or very lightly covered.

I learn new things every day.

I think that both the internet and social media have been vehicles in this learning journey of mine.

I’m thankful for that. I’m forever in a quest for knowledge.

This is one of the topics that I didn’t know much about.

I know it’s a controversial one but no one can hide the facts when they are there … in our face.

This situation is a total violation of human rights and the extermination of a race by those with more power.

For centuries there was no such conflict. In the 19th century the land of Palestine was inhabited by a multicultural population – approximately 86 percent Muslim, 10 percent Christian, and 4 percent Jewish – living in peace.

Zionism
In the late 1800’s a group in Europe decided to colonize this land. Known as Zionists, they represented an extremist minority of the Jewish population. Their goal was to create a Jewish homeland, and they considered locations in Africa and the Americas, before settling on Palestine.

At first, this immigration created no problems. However, as more and more Zionists immigrated to Palestine – many with the express wish of taking over the land for a Jewish state – the indigenous population became increasingly alarmed.

Eventually, fighting broke out, with escalating waves of violence. Hitler’s rise to power, combined with Zionist activities to sabotage efforts to place Jewish refugees in western countries, led to increased Jewish immigration to Palestine, and conflict grew.

UN Partition Plan
Finally, in 1947 the United Nations decided to intervene.

However, rather than adhering to the principle of “self-determination of peoples,” in which the people themselves create their own state and system of government, the UN chose to revert to the medieval strategy whereby an outside power divides up other people’s land.

Under considerable Zionist pressure, the UN recommended giving away 55% of Palestine to a Jewish state – despite the fact that this group represented only about 30% of the total population, and owned under 7% of the land.

Current Conflict
There are two primary issues at the core of this continuing conflict.

First, there is the inevitably destabilizing effect of trying to maintain an ethnically preferential state, particularly when it is largely of foreign origin. The original population of what is now Israel was 96 percent Muslim and Christian, yet, these refugees are prohibited from returning to their homes in the self-described Jewish state (and those within Israel are subjected to systematic discrimination).

Second, Israel’s continued military occupation and confiscation of privately owned land in the West Bank, and control over Gaza, are extremely oppressive, with Palestinians having minimal control over their lives.

Thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children are held in Israeli prisons. Few of them have had a legitimate trial; physical abuse and torture are frequent. Palestinian borders (even internal ones) are controlled by Israeli forces. Periodically men, women, and children are strip searched; people are beaten; women in labor are prevented from reaching hospitals (at times resulting in death); food and medicine are blocked from entering Gaza, producing an escalating humanitarian crisis. Israeli forces invade almost daily, injuring, kidnapping, and sometimes killing inhabitants.

According to the Oslo peace accords of 1993, these territories were supposed to finally become a Palestinian state. However, after years of Israel continuing to confiscate land and conditions steadily worsening, the Palestinian population rebelled.

(The Barak offer, widely reputed to be generous, was anything but.)

This uprising, called the “Intifada” (Arabic for “shaking off”) began at the end of September 2000.

U.S. Involvement
Largely due to special-interest lobbying, U.S. taxpayers give Israel an average of $8 million per day, and since its creation have given more U.S. funds to Israel than to any other nation.

As Americans learn about how Israel is using our tax dollars, many are calling for an end to this expenditure.

The Israeli–Palestinian conflict is the ongoing struggle between Israelis and Palestinians that began in the mid-20th century. The conflict is wide-ranging, and the term is sometimes also used in reference to the earlier sectarian conflict in Mandatory Palestine, between the Jewishyishuv and the Arab population under British rule. The Israeli–Palestinian conflict has formed the core part of the wider Arab–Israeli conflict. It has widely been referred to as the world’s “most intractable conflict“.

Despite a long-term peace process and the general reconciliation of Israel with Egypt and Jordan, Israelis and Palestinians have failed to reach a final peace agreement.

The remaining key issues are: mutual recognition, borders, security, water rights, control of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of movement, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of return for their refugees. The violence of the conflict, in a region rich in sites of historic, cultural and religious interest worldwide, has been the object of numerous international conferences dealing with historic rights, security issues and human rights, and has been a factor hampering tourism in and general access to areas that are hotly contested.
