Hello!

My name is Heather Rooney.

I am an illustrator specializing in photorealistic colored pencil and graphite drawings.

Since finding my passion for portrait and figure drawing in high school, I have developed a technique focusing on high attention to detail. I draw my inspiration from a broad range of cultural figures, such as sport athletes, media personalities and entertainment professionals.

With each illustration requiring many hours of work, ranging from 30 hours to 100+ hours, I share my process through time-lapse videos on my YouTube channel, which has generated over 60 million views from a global audience.

I received my B.A. in Studio Art at Emmanuel College, in the vibrant city of Boston, Massachusetts. I am now pursuing a career in illustration.

A very good friend once told me the perfect analogy.

You have a crystal goblet, made of the finest blown Murano glass. This is one of your finest possessions. You value its beauty but most likely its sentimental value is priceless.

If it falls and brakes into pieces you may be able to put it back together.

However, even though it may be almost the same, there will always be signs and marks of where it broke and where you glued it together.

It will never be the same.

Oscars 2014: Ellen DeGeneres’ all-star selfie sets Twitter record for most retweets

Academy Awards host recruits Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Spacey and Brad Pitt for photograph during live ceremony.

Not only has Ellen DeGeneres set the record for most retweeted tweet of all-time, but she’s also the first user to top 1 million retweets for a single Twitter post.

Surpassing 1,300,000 retweets in less than an hour, @TheEllenShow posted the record-breaker while hosting the Oscars tonight.

The mega-selfie featured, among others, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey and Bradley Cooper, who snapped the shot.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability. Currently working on an enterprise whose main mission will be to bring peoples of all walks of life together. To be one .... since we ALL are ONE!! The future looks bright and promising!!!
