CITIZEN OF THE WORLD

In broad usage, the term global citizenship or world citizenship typically defines a person who places their identity with a “global community” above their identity as a citizen of a particular nation or place.

The idea is that one’s identity transcends geography or political borders and that the planetary human community is interdependent and whole; humankind is essentially one. The term has use in education and political philosophy and has enjoyed popular use in social movements such as the “World Citizen” movement and the Mondialisation movement.

On humanity, racism is a curse
In divinity, one should immerse

Tender feelings one should nurse
Our children are our wealth, purse
Never use harsh words or be terse
Being good is better than being worse

I am a citizen of the WORLD
Sans geopolitical boundaries, my spirit unfurled

WHAT WE ALL KNOW 

The legality of cannabis for general or recreational use varies from country to country.

Possession of cannabis is illegal in most countries as a result of the agreement about Indian hemp, also known as hashish, in the  International Opium Convention (1925).  However, many countries have decriminalized the possession of small quantities of cannabis.

Some states in the US allow use of medical cannabis in state, territorial, Indian reservation, and Federal district laws, although the use is illegal by federal law. Federal agencies claim that federal law comes first.

THE LIFE CYCLE OF TRASH

Once we have taken out the trash, we often forget that it all has to go somewhere. But not many of us know exactly where it goes, nor do we usually think about it.

The Life Cycle of Garbage shows what happens to your trash once it leaves your home, to give you an idea of where it ends up and how much of it there really is.

The Life Cycle of Garbage begins in your home

Your kitchen trash can fills up …

So you take the garbage bag out to your curbside trash container …

And the garbage man comes to empty it …

What happens to all your trash once the garbage man takes it away?

Typically it goes to a Transfer Station …

 A transfer station is where local trash is taken and dumped before it is transferred to its final destination. The final destination could be:

A Landfill … 

where the waste is buried and left to decompose, a process which takes hundreds of years even for biodegradable materials …

An Incinerator …

 where the garbage is burned and turns into ash and heat, sometimes used to generate energy (called waste-to-energy) …

Or a Recycling Center … 

where it will be transferred to a manufacturing plant so these materials can be used to make new products!

Or In the Ocean …

If waste is not correctly managed, it can end up harming the environment and polluting our air and water.

Illegally dumped trash and litter can end up:

Littering our Communities …

 This is why it is so important that we put our trash into the proper containers and recycle as much as we can. Garbage does not simply disappear once it leaves our homes, it all ends up somewhere and has an impact on every single person in some way.

Small actions can have a huge impact.

Puerto Ricans (Spanish: Puertorriqueños; Taíno: boricua) are the inhabitants or citizens of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a multi-ethnic nation, home to people of different ethnic and national backgrounds. As a result, some Puerto Ricans do not treat their nationality as an ethnicity but as a citizenship with various ethnicities and national origins comprising the “Puerto Rican people“.

Despite its multi-ethnic composition, the culture held in common by most Puerto Ricans is referred to as mainstream Puerto Rican culture, a Western culture largely derived from the traditions of Western European migrants, beginning with the early Spanish settlers, along with other Europeans arriving later such as the Corsicans, Irish, Germans and French, along with a strong West African culture which has been influential.

Don’t stop believing …. Trickle-down economics!!

“Trickle-down economics” and the “trickle-down theory” are terms in United States politics to refer to the idea that tax breaks or other economic benefits provided to businesses and upper income levels will benefit poorer members of society by improving the economy as a whole. The term has been attributed to humorist Will Rogers, who said of the New Deal that “money was all appropriated for the top in hopes that it would trickle down to the needy.”

Today, “trickle-down economics” is most closely identified with the economic policies known as “Reaganomics” (and similar policies). David Stockman, who as Reagan’s budget director championed these cuts at first but then became skeptical of them, told journalistWilliam Greider that the “supply-side economics” is the trickle-down idea: “It’s kind of hard to sell ‘trickle down,’ so the supply-side formula was the only way to get a tax policy that was really ‘trickle down.’ Supply-side is ‘trickle-down’ theory.”
