THERE’S A LIMIT …. SAYING NO

I must set aside the light tone of the most recent IOTD.

I’d been trying for lighthearted images to go along the Christmas spirit and the holidays.

However, due to the most recent development from the Republican front-runner for the 2016 Presidency, I feel the need to say a few short words:

NO …. ENOUGH

The rest is up for you to find out and decide for yourself.

Earlier today, (December 7, 2015), the candidate currently leading in the polls for the Republican presidential nomination called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” That was, of course, Donald Trump. As Jeffrey Goldberg just tweeted, “Donald Trump is now an actual threat to national security. He’s providing jihadists ammunition for their campaign to demonize the US.”

~IN HER OWN WORDS~

IOTD” is image of the day, a concept I came up with. I teach visual meditative therapy – or in easy terms – a mini mental holiday. For some people it is very difficult for them to get their image right. I post an image a day for people to use in their mini mental vacay. Some are serious, some are silly, and some are just beautiful!”

THIS IS VERY SERIOUS FOR ME

RACIST, SEXIST, MYSOGYNIST, HEARTLESS

You don’t have to be a Republican.

You don’t have to be a Democrat.

All you have to be is a human being.

There’s compassion for the fellowmen and women.

There’s charity for the needy.

There’s also a law known as the “Americans with Disabilities Act”.

There’s the “Golden Rule”.

Mainly there’s common sense.

This man truly believes that he’s above everyone and everyone.

He doesn’t care about badmouthing or disrespecting anyone. Remember the Mexicans, John McCain, Megyn Kelly, “illegal immigrants, Jorge Ramos, Black Lives Matter …. and so many others.

The list is endless.

HOW LOW CAN HE GO?

Donald Trump Slammed For Mocking Disabled New York Times Reporter Serge Kovaleski

Speaking at a rally in South Carolina on Tuesday night Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump seems to mock New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, who has a chronic condition called arthrogryposis which affects the movement of his arms.

Trump imitates Kovaleski while defending comments he has made over the past few weeks, asserting that members of the Muslim communities in New Jersey celebrated following the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers in 2001.

The New York Times has slammed Trump’s actions as ‘outrageous’.

(This is not direct discrimination, it’s lower than that).

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) is a law that was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1990. In 1986, the National Council on Disability had recommended enactment of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and drafted the first version of the bill which was introduced in the House and Senate in 1988.

It was signed into law on July 26, 1990, by President George H. W. Bush, amended and signed by President George W. Bush with changes effective January 1, 2009.

The ADA is a wide-ranging civil rights law that is intended to protect against discrimination based on disability. It affords similar protections against discrimination to Americans with disabilities as the Civil Rights Act of 1964,[4] which made discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national origin, and other characteristics illegal.

Hillary Clinton releases video celebrating Pride month with a new campaign video  for marriage equality

“LGBT Americans are full and equal citizens and deserve the rights of citizenship,” she proclaimed.

“That includes marriage.”

This is very important to me … this is not politics, this is not pandering. This is showing the reality which we are living …..

Here’s one major contender in the 2016 presidential elections who has openly stated that she’s for marriage equality.

I’m not personally endorsing her or trying to campaign for her in this spot.

My intention is to share with you the video that has been released by her “people”.

This ad portrays the reality of many of the members of the LGBTQ community. It confirms what we all feel ….

Gay rights are human rights and human rights are gay rights.

This will be a major point for me when I’m considering how I will vote when the time comes.

Hillary Clinton

It’s time for marriage equality to become a reality across the US

Hillary Clinton has written an open letter calling for the Supreme Court to finally rule in favor of same-sex marriage in all 50 states.

RBLine

Friends,

Not long ago, I received a letter from a man named Kevin in Georgia whose marriage is recognized in 37 states and DC, but not his own.

“Our marriage is special and real, functional and worthy of respect,” he wrote.

Any day now, the Supreme Court will decide whether or not to recognize marriages across the country. Like millions of people, I’m waiting and hoping.

And I’m thinking of families like Kevin’s. LGBT couples should not have to make a case for their relationship. Every family deserves to be recognized under the law and treated equally in our society — not just in some states, but in every state.

Just like marriage is a fundamental building block of our society, marriage equality is a core part of our mission to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and all Americans.

The progress our country has made on this issue is inspiring, and the pace with which it has happened is breathtaking. Nearly three quarters of Americans now live in states with marriage equality.

But that progress didn’t happen on its own.

From Stonewall to City Hall to the courthouse to the ballot box, the courage of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender advocates has changed minds and changed laws.

Each incremental victory is a promise to the next generation that yes, it does get better.

That promise is ours to keep.

When you’re headed in the right direction, as we are, you don’t turn back or throw up your hands and say, “good enough.”

You keep charging forward. No future generation of LGBT Americans should live in a country that doesn’t embrace their full and equal rights.

We should stand with loving couples in all states, and commit to building an America where every lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender person can live, work, learn, raise a family, and marry free from discrimination or prejudice. We should refuse to settle for anything less.
