IOTD …. Image of the day, #403 …. “Simple …. a resounding NO”!!

THERE’S A LIMIT …. SAYING NO

I must set aside the light tone of the most recent IOTD.

I’d been trying for lighthearted images to go along the Christmas spirit and the holidays.

However, due to the most recent development from the Republican front-runner for the 2016 Presidency, I feel the need to say a few short words:

NO …. ENOUGH

The rest is up for you to find out and decide for yourself.

Earlier today, (December 7, 2015), the candidate currently leading in the polls for the Republican presidential nomination called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” That was, of course, Donald Trump. As Jeffrey Goldberg just tweeted, “Donald Trump is now an actual threat to national security. He’s providing jihadists ammunition for their campaign to demonize the US.”

~IN HER OWN WORDS~

IOTD” is image of the day, a concept I came up with. I teach visual meditative therapy – or in easy terms – a mini mental holiday. For some people it is very difficult for them to get their image right. I post an image a day for people to use in their mini mental vacay. Some are serious, some are silly, and some are just beautiful!”

THIS IS VERY SERIOUS FOR ME

A GROUP OF BABOONS

The United States Congress is the bicameral legislature of the federal government of the United States consisting of two houses:

the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The Congress meets in the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Both senators and representatives are chosen through direct election, though vacancies in the Senate may be filled by a gubernatorial appointment.

Members are usually affiliated to the Republican Party or to the Democratic Party, and only rarely to a third-party or as independents.

At the end of the day …. “Black Friday 2015 …. “!!

~~November 26, 2015~~

BLACK FRIDAY 2015

Black Friday used to be a one-day shopping event for many retailers, but over time, with Cyber Monday and Small Business Saturday coming into the mix, it’s become a big weekend-long shopping event.

With so much buzz around this shopping extravaganza, it’s not hard to buy into the circus of it all. You’ll make impulse purchases and fall into every retailers’ trap to get you to spend your small fortune in their stores. They’ll pull out all the stops to get you in their stores and then, well, I’m sure you know the rest.

Don’t be tempted by all the bold colors in the ads that draw you in and especially the low prices that get your attention. During this year’s biggest shopping event, be a smarter shopper by following some of these rules:

Thoughts for today, #214 …. “Sugar and Spice … Sarcasm and Wine”!!

~~August 18, 2015~~

IN THIS CASE WHAT ARE GIRLS MADE OF

The nursery rhyme “What Are Little Boys Made Of“.
From Wikipedia

What Are Little Boys Made Of? is a popular nursery rhyme dating from the early nineteenth century:

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy-dogs’ tails,
That’s what little boys are made of.

What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice, and everything nice,
That’s what little girls are made of.

The rhyme is part of a larger work called “What Folks Are Made Of” or “What All the World Is Made Of“. Other stanzas describe what babies, young men, young women, sailors, soldiers, nurses, fathers, mothers, old men, old women, and all folks are made of.

Burton Stevenson attributed the two verses above to the English poet Robert Southey

(c. 1820).

THIS IS ONE IS A CARTOON … BUT IT STILL SCREAMS

We are all very much aware of the controversy that has been generated in view of the fact that the “donald” will not curb the avalanche of insults that drip from his surly, arrogant, egocentric mouth.

I’m no McCain fan yet, if anything, I sincerely honor his status as a POW.

I will leave the thoughts to you.

DEFINITION OF POW

A prisoner of war (POW, PoW, PW, P/W, WP, PsW, enemy prisoner of war (EPW) or “missing-captured”) is a person, whether combatant or non-combatant, who is held in custody by a belligerent power during or immediately after an armed conflict.

The earliest recorded usage of the phrase is dated 1660.

Donald Trump attack on John McCain war record is ‘new low in US politics’

Donald Trump attacked the Arizona senator John McCain on Saturday, July 18, for being shot down while a navy pilot during the Vietnam war.

Trump, who has been in a war of words with the 2008 Republican nominee, jibed of McCain:

“He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured?

I like people who weren’t captured.”

McCain was held prisoner by North Vietnam for five and a half years, and repeatedly tortured. Trump received several student deferments from Vietnam while in college. After graduating, he received a medical deferment.

Thoughts for today, #181 …. “Terrorists and their flags”!!

Flags

~~June 22, 2015~~

MEANING OF A FLAG

A flag is a piece of fabric (most often rectangular or quadrilateral) with a distinctive design that is used as a symbol, as a signaling device, or as decoration.

The first flags were used to assist military co-ordination on battlefields, and flags have since evolved into a general tool for rudimentary signalling and identification, especially in environments where communication is similarly challenging (such as the maritime environment where semaphore is used).

National flags are potent patriotic symbols with varied wide-ranging interpretations, often including strong military associations due to their original and ongoing military uses. Flags are also used in messaging, advertising, or for other decorative purposes.

The study of flags is known as vexillology, from the Latin word vexillum, meaning flag or banner.

TWISTING HIMSELF INTO A PRETZEL

Jeb Bush Comes Full Circle On Iraq Question:

‘I Would Not Have Gone Into Iraq’

~~GRAPHIC SOURCE~~

In the space of just four days, likely Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has come full circle on whether he would have made the decision invade Iraq in 2003 as his brother, then President George W. Bush, did.

“If we’re all supposed to answer hypotheticals,” Bush said at a town hall meeting in Tempe, Arizona, today. “I would not, have engaged, I would not have gone into Iraq.”

**Jeb Bush: 3 Days, 4 Different Answers About Iraq**

Jeb Bush: In Hindsight, Not Sure Whether He Would Have Invaded Iraq in ’03

But over the last few days he has sought to refine that answer.

BLine

In an interview on The Sean Hannity radio show on Tuesday he acknowledged: “I interpreted the question wrong, I guess” and added “I don’t know what that decision would have been. That’s a hypothetical.”

And Wednesday, at a town hall meeting in Nevada, he said this: “The problem with hypotheticals is two-fold.

One, when I was governor I got to — I felt it a duty, I didn’t have to — to call all the family members of people who lost their lives and I don’t remember the total number but it was easily over 100.

And I felt it a duty to do that because I admired the sacrifice of their families. And I admired the men and women — mostly men — that made the ultimate sacrifice.

So, going back in time and talking about hypotheticals — what would have happened what could have happened, I think, does a disservice for them.”

But speaking to reporters after the event he hinted at the position he took today: “Of course, given the power of looking back and having that — of course anybody would have made different decisions. There’s no denying that.”

Oh, Jeb …. accept it. You have no clue. You are just a mouth piece for those behind you that tell you what to do.

I often wonder … do people like this think that the public has no recall, that we forget things as easily as they retract their statements? And even if we did, don’t they know that today everything is recorded and we can see/hear the interaction to our heart’s delight?

Please, you made a mistake and keep making it worse by attempting to fix it.

Guess Shiite does happen!!
