Pink’s new song …. “You and Me”!!

~~October 22, 2014~~

This isn’t the first time Pink has proven to be a versatile artist, but it might be the most surprising. Last year, Pink won over music fans with her collaboration with fun. frontman Nate Ruess on their hit song “Just Give Me A Reason.”

The song itself was a bit of a departure for Pink, but with the news of her new “baby,” it seems to have been the perfect lead in to what fans can expect from her next. On Tuesday morning, the songstress tweeted out a link to a website with the caption, ”Here’s my new baby!!!!” and no, the link does not send you to a picture of an ultrasound. Instead, the link will bring you to a website for You + Me, Dallas Green — of City and Coulour — and Pink’s new folk duo.

The site advertises that an album is on its way, set to come out Oct. 14. According to, the Green opened for Pink’s Truth About Love tour which went on for the entire 2013 year. The two took to the new group’s official Facebook to say how excited they were for the upcoming album, “rose ave.”

Alecia Moore may be known for crafting cheeky kiss-off anthems and glitzy, acrobatics-heavy performances, but for her latest project, the woman we know as Pink is slowing down.

You+Me, which finds Moore teaming up with City and Colour’s Dallas Green, just released the folk-leaning rose ave., out now via RCA Records. EW talked to Pink and Green (rolls right off the tongue, right?) to find out how they found each other, the creative process behind rose ave., and Pink’s dream collaborations.

Angelika’s Songs …. “All about that bass” by Meghan Trainor!!

~~October 9, 2014~~

This is Angelika, my oldest grand-daughter, you may have seen her here a few times. She is 9 years old.

She loves music, as much as I do. She’s been keeping me up to date with some of the new songs that are coming out. She knows the songs but doesn’t know the performer most of the time. I’ve trying to teach her it’s important to also know who is singing. Very frequently, we use the “Shazam” app to identify the singer/band.

She returned from her summer trip up north, she has started school. I’m a bit behind. She told me I better get on it. So, here I am!!

All About That Bass” is the debut single by American artist Meghan Trainor. It was released by Epic Records in June 2014 and was co-written by Meghan Trainor and Kevin Kadish. The song was produced by Kevin Kadish.

All instruments were played by Kevin Kadish (drums, bass and guitars) and David Baron (piano, saxophone, and Hammond B3 organ). Musically, “All About That Bass” is a pop and doo wop song that contains lyrics of body positive themes.

The song was positively received by critics who praised the catchy beat, lyrics, and message. The song has become a commercial success, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming her first hit single on the chart. Internationally, it has topped the charts in Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, and peaked within the top ten of the charts in other countries.

Meghan Trainor sings about not being a size 2. And about magazines not being real with all their Photoshop. Come on now, make it stop! And this is such a great message! Show the world you can be whatever you want to be, in each and every size.

And I love this text:

“Yeah, my momma she told me don’t worry about your size
She says, boys they like a little more booty to hold at night”

Just don’t worry … accept yourself!

Embrace your body… that’s my message to you all!

To start the day …. “We Are Here”!!

~~September 15, 2014~~

A message from Alicia Keys …..

“The day I wrote this song, I was sitting in a circle of people of all ages and we were asked, “Why are you here.” Why am I here?? This really hit me on a deep level. I realized no one had ever asked me that question before.
As I prepare to give birth to a new child, I can’t help and think about the world I’m bringing my baby into. No matter where we come from, when we see the state of the world today, we can all feel the growing frustration and desire to make a difference. And we all have a voice – we just need to know how to make it heard.
I have a vision that I believe is more than a dream, that I know can be our reality.
I believe in an empowered world community built on the true meaning of equality – where we are all considered one people, regardless of race, religion, gender, zip code, belief system or sexual orientation.

I believe all of our voices should be heard, so that our representation reflects our population. We need our leadership to reflect an equal balance of the gifts that both men and women have to offer.
I believe in a world where every child born receives a quality education – where their unique gifts are nurtured so that they may be a beneficial presence in this world.
I believe in mutual respect and cooperation among all peoples and all nations. It is time to end all forms of racial injustice for our black brothers and sisters and all people of color.

I believe in an end to the prison industrial complex in America and a renewed justice system that is based on fairness and truth.
I believe in universal global health care based on Integrative Medicine, so that our bodies are acknowledged and treated as one system, and we can help control the spread of diseases like AIDS, Malaria, TB and Ebola.
I believe we have an ability to end poverty, oppression, and hopelessness that often breeds despair, terror, and violence.
I believe in common sense gun laws that serve to protect children and families and society from unnecessary violence.

I believe in Peace & Love & Unity.
I believe that this vision can be a reality.
And, it’s not about me. It’s about WE.
Together we can give birth to a kinder and more peaceful world for ALL children.
Our souls were brought together so that we can love each other sister, brother. We Are Here. We are here for all of us.

That’s why ‪#‎WeAreHere‬.”

Sent with Light,
Alicia Keys
